HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's chat thread is here.
Hi, everyone.
Cold, grey, and rainy here, with gusty winds coming from the east coast.
Autumn has begun in Indiana, and I thought I'd post these fall foliage maps for the U.K. and the U.S.
Here's the Autumn Colours 2015 U.K.
Here's the Fall Foliage Prediction Map 2015 for the U.S.
I don't have a nice photo to start this week. I'm off to wrap up in my electric blanket and eat some hot northern bean soup.
Everyone have a wonderful week!!!
Afternoon all the weather here is dull but dry did a washing and put it out but I do not think it will be drying much will just have to hope. Sorry to hear about your uncle OG and the long journey you will have to make to go to the funeral it is a good job that you had decided not to go to the one on Monday.
On Wednesday I went and got my new glasses and am now running them in as they are slightly different from my last ones. In the evening my cousin had invited me to go with him and his partner to his Staff Association Dinner which is held in Fife College and is served by the students in the Hospitality section which includes the catering and we were served the following
Epigramme of Lamb with sauce paloise followed by Pan seared salmon supreme on a parsley pasta with caper and black olive dressing and tomato sauce. The main course was grilled chicken breast on a barley and leek risotto with deep fried cauliflower and then a sweet of lemon and hazelnut iced mouse cherry compote with a lemon curd and crème fraiche sorbet. the above was washed down with either a red or white wine. Coffee was then served to keep you awake till you got home.
I hope everyone is keeping well and Diane gets over her chemo and is able to attend her shows.

Menu sounds lovely, George!
Morning all:
OG: Oh dear, you're too busy with all kinds of less-than-joyful activities. Don't worry about keeping up with us.
Heather: Don't forget that glass of wine while you're waiting for guests. You may need another one while you're figuring out the new TV. Had to smile at the inside scoop on Scottish funeral gear.
George: Another smile at the thought of "running in" new glasses - one chapter the first day, then two chapters the second day, etc., but no speed-reading allowed for the first book. :-) That dinner sounded very nice. Our local community college has a good culinary department and dining room that's open to the public who pay to be guinea pigs for the students' efforts - they do a pretty nice job
Another hot one today (and tomorrow), then the storm that brought us rain last week is rumored to be circling nearby and may possibly make a return visit next week. Take care everyone.
GEORGE sounds delicious.
How about this for a dieting aid.
I realise that the 'Marmite debate' is probably done and dusted, but it was interesting. I am unusual in that I can take it or leave it. I eat it about once a week, but the hubby loves it. I think it would be grounds for divorce if the cupboard was not well stocked!
The point is, that whereas I have spent a small fortune over the years on tropical strength insect repellants, he never gets bitten by any flying insect. I get completely covered by itchy bites, even in this country.
I also have a brother who (turn away now, Clare) spreads it like jam! Come to think of it, he doesn't get bitten, either.
Food for thought (or insect repellent)

ROSY like you I am one of those who can "take it or leave it". when i do take it then a very thin smear is enough.
Had a nice lunch with my friend, but sadly it was cut short as she had a phone call to say her Mother had fallen. She messaged me a while back to say that she and Mum were on their way to Raigmore and that her Mum possibly had broken her hip.... What a nightmare.
evening all: Was 90F here at dinnertime and 108F down the road in Camarillo today. Granddaughter and Ms. D will be down here tomorrow evening for the night before driving back to Arizona Sunday...
dinblib: Most people I know at this point have aging parents with similar problems. That diet program would solve all kinds of isssues.
Have a good Saturday all.
Annette: Sending you cold breezes right now! 44 F (6.6. C) here tonight. Have a very nice time with your family!!!
Rosy: I may not need the marmite. The deer flies will be hibernating for the winter soon, I hope.
