HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's chat thread is here.
Hi, everyone.
Cold, grey, and rainy here, with gusty winds coming from the east coast.
Autumn has begun in Indiana, and I thought I'd post these fall foliage maps for the U.K. and the U.S.
Here's the Autumn Colours 2015 U.K.
Here's the Fall Foliage Prediction Map 2015 for the U.S.
I don't have a nice photo to start this week. I'm off to wrap up in my electric blanket and eat some hot northern bean soup.
Everyone have a wonderful week!!!
You never know, Heather! Just as well I live down here.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

The factory shop is in Aberlour where head man Jim Walker lives.
My daughters horse has extra garlic in summer to ward off midges. I am not sure he has sampled Marmite but he eats most things!!
Wendy/Heather: Walkers shortbreads are delicious!
I wonder if Marmite would keep the deer flies from biting me? They are ferocious here this time of year. I have one spot where I have to mow, and they just swarm me. Dang, they bite me hard!!!
Clare: I'd love to know just how smart corvids are. Last week, I had an interesting encounter with a blue jay (pretty corvid). I'll post the whole story on Saturday when I start the new thread.
Never heard of deer flies but a friend plagued with deer used to get human hair from local barber . Sprinkle it around fence to ward them off.
DIANE- you never know! Marmite may do the trick ! I will have to Google deer flies, though...
Wendy: I love having the deer around. I really enjoy watching them. But deer flies are merciless little bloodsuckers. LOL I try to remember to spray myself with repellent before I go to the mailbox or mow. :-)
Seems like deer flies are like horse flies. In which case, ghastly.(Said in Lady Bracknell voice).
I can't remotely do Lady Bracknell. I probably sound more like Janet Street Porter.
