HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
This is a very special week because it begins with a rare astronomical phenomenon. On 27-28 September, most folks on this thread can enjoy several coinciding events:
You can find complete info here and here.
Everyone have a wonderful week!

Lindy: Very beautiful flowers!!!
Hi, folks. Facebook is down in the U.S. and U.K. (maybe all over the world, too early to tell). Just thought I'd let everyone know so you wouldn't think you'd done something wrong with your own personal computer system.
Lindybird: I love the outdoor gardens - too bad the displays (indoor ones you previously posted) can't be outside - especially the gray/blue/white palette.
Diane: Re Facebook: That sounds like a big outage.
Thanks DIANE for info.
Lovely pics, LINDY!
A pleasant day here, OH chopping things in the garden, hoping that we will still have some colour when our Danish friends arrive next week.
What a lovely day we had – and more to come, I see! No frosts here yet, although early morning is only about eight degrees most days. Have been harvesting and freezing what may be our final courgettes and beans, doubt there will be any after a week away. Tomatoes will probably carry on a bit longer in the greenhouse.
Brenda – I thought you had mentioned Glaucoma again – I didn’t know it could recur after the surgery. I do hope the latest drops have been successful and you will get the go-ahead for a holiday. Well done for being up to see the eclipse. It has been a spectacular harvest moon, but I was asleep at eclipse time – despite waking at two other times in the night!
Heather – sorry! DMR is just a Digital Media Recorder (replaced whatever we had before!) – but is a Smart one, so part of our network, and can communicate with our computers.
Annette – yup – funeral fixed for 12th October. J will be having October holiday and has decided to stay at home with me. After our visit up north, Daughter#2 and Partner will come down here to take OH down south. Don’t know whether our other Daughter is intending to be there. Pleased to see you are enjoying some coastal cooling at last.
Diane – Mars announcement definitely seems to confirm water (or other liquid?) flowing – wasn’t sure whether they meant now or in the past. Seems lots of “our” people here saw the eclipse; why didn’t I wake at the right time?!
Linda – pleased to see you feel better at last! Pleased you enjoyed your day out. We shall call at Lakeland on the edge of Stirling on Wednesday, but for bin-bags and other mundane supplies. I have seen that spiralizer, but dismissed it as a gimmick, so shall look forward to your consumer report! Have been enjoying your Flower Show photos.
Hoping to post again tomorrow, but if not I should check in while we are away!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

Off to bed now..... Night All.
ps. OG: The spiralizer I bought was the cheaper, hand held version: the bigger one looked as if it would take up an awful lot of room!!! Hope you enjoy your trip, that is if you come on and read this!
Evening all:
OG: Spoke to my sister in the UK this morning and she was saying they had their kids/grandkids up for the weekend and the weather was wonderful. That's nice that Dau#2 and partner will take EE to the funeral - less hassle for him. Have a lovely few days away!
Amazing how much coolish weather can energize you. I managed to get some of our potted plants organized today, but most of the succulents will need repotting - and I think I'm either going to give some away or dump some that aren't doing so well. Simplify, simplify....
Off to see Brit friend for coffee and natter in the a.m.; will pick up potting soil on the way home.
Take care all, especially Margo. Hope you managed to get out and about with your OH while he was home. Major hugs to you, dear!
I had a gap of 4 days between nanny days – so I escaped on Sun/Mon to visit Clare. No, not Clare on here (wouldn’t she get a surprise if I landed on her doorstep!). It was my long awaited visit to Clare Valley in Mid-North, about 90 miles from city. I had a wonderful time seeking churches or their remains on unsealed back roads plus those in the little towns. I stayed at motel in Clare overnight, was warm & cosy, later discovered it was 3C minimum. I woke in night to see a bright light – aha, the full moon. I came home via Blyth yesterday pm. Country very green, crops looking good, some farmers beginning to cut hay, bigger trees than further north, especially along creek beds.
I forgot to add the bird sounds in the country - mopoke owl in the night and about 4 am the kookaburras started. Lovely.
