Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey), 13 September 2015

HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's Chat thread is here.

Anyone can watch the partial solar eclipse here
U.K.: tomorrow morning at 5:30 a.m.
Eastern U.S.: tonight at 12:30 a.m.
California: tonight at 9:30 p.m.

  • I did start writing earlier, but I had a scam on my computer, which was not easy to remove and then Margo and I had a long phone call. She will be posting on here, maybe tomorrow.

The rain has finally stopped and the patio is drying now.

AQ, Thanks for your holiday report, Part one. I will have a look on Google Earth.

Annette, When I saw the warning, I wondered how near / far it was to you.

Linda, I hope you are happy after your hairdressing appointment.

OG, Welcome back. Pleased to read that you had a good time.

  • Thanks for the tip-off Brenda.

  • Been busy:  collected my eye cream, going to use it now and see how I go.  Went to hairdressers:  She said "Hello, Again!"  - she has done me proud by leaving it a little longer so that I can tuck in the band which holds the fascinator - I didn't take it with me but described where it would go.

Now I have the kitchen floor to do and other exciting things, so that we can leave everything ship shape.  We go first thing tomorrow so I will not be on again after tonight.

  • OG & EE - Good that you're back home and OK, after enjoying your trip. Hope you will post some pics later!

  • LINDY - Have a wonderful time at the wedding, look forward to hearing about it. I hope that the new cream will help your eye. Remember to pack your dancing shoes!!!

  • Brenda: Thanks for the link to the team's Farewell for the Season - what a lovely blog from them all.

    Lindybird: Have a WONDERFUL time!

    OG: Welcome home.

I'm off to daughter's. Back later today.

  • With a Wink In my Eye

With a wink in my eye,
With a toss of my head
I've only one more night abed,
    Before we go to celebrate,
To dance, to sing, to congregate.
For my first born has found a mate!

He and his love will plight their troth
A tear in one eye will be enough......
With thoughts of our big day, so long ago
We will wave them through to their
Lives together, through both the good, fair
    And sometimes bad weather.

    Life's circle goes around:
The years fly by and then its found
Its our youngsters'  time to do the things
We felt we could, when we had the wings!

From little ones deep in the nest
From telling them that We Knew Best
They go on life's journey on their own
Leaving us, and our memories, all alone.

But good it is, and fitting too
For them to fly off & start anew.
Whilst we look fondly on, and say
"Its been a tiring time, but a
    Really Good Day!"

  • Not level verses, but then I did write it in about five minutes:  just a little longer than it took to type out LOL!!!!

Thanks so much, Heather, and everyone else who has wished us and our family well.  It means a lot to me.  I certainly won't forget to pack my shoes --- hmmnnn  that bag has about four pairs in!  .....and expect we will dance, albeit in an embarrassing way that only aged parents can!!
