As usual, Monty is still with us into September (although his family all seem to have gone) - and there's always Blue 24....

That's possibly the earliest time of day Monty has ever set off - the day cam had barely come on! Let's hope he enjoys a safe migration and that he and Glesni will be entertaining us all on this nest next year. I also hope Blue 24 is feeding herself up somewhere so she can make a safe return next year - I so hope she finds a nest and a mate so she can produce some chicks to pass those excellent genes to!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Shooting going on out there somewhere.
IMAGICAT
That's always a bit worrying, Scylla - I always wonder exactly what's being shot at.
I would imagine as Monty has now gone Dai Dot is pretty sure to have gone as well. It was great seeing him a month ago - we were reliably told he and his mate raised three chicks, which were all ringed. Apparently the people watching the nest had pretty much given up on the artificial nesting gadget they put on the tree eleven years ago - just goes to show that you never know with ospreys!
Who is that on the left hand end of the low perch? Buzzard or ...?
Kind regards, Ann
Gone now
Someone now on the high perch
Whoever it was, they've flown.
Morning Clare. Think it maybe was a Buzzard. A Dyfi comment later might say. I'm off now--things to do, places to go. Have a great day, Clare, and anyone lurking!
And you, Ann. See you later.
