HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY FULL MOON!
Last week's chat thread is HERE.
I'm going to carry over Annette's links for the California Condor webcams (because I'm enjoying watching the funny looking fellas): Ventana Wildlife Society nest and feeding cams and Sespe Condor Sanctuary nest cam .
Also, Explore.org has a lot of interesting cams right now: underwater whales; sharks; the Grand Cayman reef; various underwater cams at Long Beach, California; grizzly, panda, and polar bears; puffins; a hummingbird nest; penguins; auroras; and various Africa cams. I like to watch some of them while meditating. Explore's Hawaii cams might be interesting over the next 2-3 days as Category 4 Hurricane Ignacio approaches from the east and tracks just north of the Hawaiian Islands, causing very high surf.
Everyone have a great week!
Thanks, Clare. Have to admit it, OH took these! And 14 others - it's been sitting around here quite a lot today. Do you think it's a female or a male? I can't make up my mind whether the chest is pale or brown!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
I wouldn't like to say, OG - it's very hard to tell what colour it is in that light.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Have you any photographs which show the colour of it's back OG ?
Not really, Brenda - this shows part of its wing:
We both say a female. Colour under throat and shoulder, OG.
Very good photographs, especially when enlarged.
Thanks, Brenda. Surprised she was satisfied with a Sparrow - maybe couldn't find the Woodpigeon today!
That was my first thought, OG, but I have seen our female take an easy small bird. There can't be much left to eat, after they remove the feathers !!
Margo, lovely to hear from you and what a brave lady you are proving to be. An inspiration to us all - keeping going and having to try out new treatments in time. Will keep praying for you and OH that you get through it all. Always difficult to say the right thing but thinking of you.

Too many posts to trawl through. OG that picture of the sparrow hawk is fab - what a treat. Did see Margo's post and have replied to that.
All others, thanks for all your news etc especially Lindy with her doggy tale etc, hope Bonnie is sweet smelling now and that the table/chair dilemma is fine.
Not much to report here except getting on well with new computer and Windows 10 which I got a free upgrade with my PC.
Oh by the way, did you see the report that on the 24th August they photographed a Blue Whale at the northern edge of the Bay of Biscay - fab news, it means that the population is recovering.
Take care all and have a good weekend.
Well another lovely day in Bath with a bit of retail thrown in...
Son in Sin did curry from scratch with a super veggie option for me.
Starry night so could be chilly later.
As I use my phone for photos I don't have a scubbies how to post them but the weather for my Dismaland visit is looking good.
Eating in town tomorrow and my favourite restaurant so my week of doing nothing just carries on:-)
