HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's chat thread is here.

Hi, all. I just thought I'd start the new thread since Annette has been busy with family/friends and is probably tired.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Not long before autumn now.

  • Hi, SHEILA.  OH told me I missed seeing you at Rutland - pleased you and he exchanged a few words.  I was at the wader scrape hide when the Geese flew really low, spooked the Ospreys and caused S1 to drop the fish!  He tried searching for it and was then ostracised by Maya and S3 - sat on the perch with his back to them and sulked!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG - I've had a mixed day, really. Enjoyed chatting to the hairdresser, who has a similar age granddaughter to mine. When I returned home, my OH was looking pale. I told him off for doing too much (walking dog, going to allotment, digging potatoes, coming home and mowing lawn, followed by brushing garden paths....) but he felt worse by the time we'd had lunch. Then he announced that he felt nauseous. So this afternoon I visited sis-in-law, taking a big bunch of our rhubarb instead of a bunch of flowers on her birthday! My OH still felt ill when I got home, so I made myself a big bacon buttie with some green beans on the side and he had nothing but a cuppa.
  • Hi Everyone. We seem to have had a hectic few days. taking advantage of any dry weather, working in the garden. Shopping, visiting friends, when it rained. We have rain this evening. Neighbours, and ourselves, spent some hours cutting the hedges on both sides of our Close. OH then cut our low box hedge, which can take longer than our big hedges, and then cut the grass.

It seems I have 'bruised lungs' from all the coughing I was doing recently. It really is such a nuisance.

AQ, So sorry that your OH has been so ill and needs AB's. I do hope you both recover ASAP. Do take care with your back.

Lmac, Such a special photograph of Tapaidh. She is lovely, even with her white moustache :-)))

Annette, Hope you manage to find the missing fountain part.

I hope Diane is finding all that she wishes in her solitary time.

Heather, I don't eat much cheese, as OH has found that it gives him migraine. We both have low cholesterol, but we do have those drinks every day to reduce any cholesterol. I presume they work. LOL but we are not obsessive about what food we eat, but I try to stay sensible with our diet.

Limpy, Thanks for your lovely swallow photograph.

  • OG, Thank you for the reminder

    Diane, HAVE A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY.

  • Linda, Sorry to read that your OH is feeling so unwell, especially after getting a good result at the hospital. I do hope he will soon feel fine, again.

  • Lindy so sorry to read your post about hubby. That sounds like a rotten afternoon he has had and hope to look in tomorrow and see a post that says he is feeling a bit better. I hope you also have a good tomorrow chilling.

  • Thanks Lmac - we don't know if he is ailing or if he ate something disagreeable. Time will tell. I tried not to kiss anyone when I got to sis-in-law (there were a lot of people there, & 4 dogs!) in case I carried any germs myself.

  • Annette - no I didn't see it. Am having a few teething problems with playing back my CD audio - won't recognise them. However have been onto the chap whom I bought the pc from and he has got back to me via a programme called TeamViewer, its strange when they take over your computer to try and put the problem to rights. No luck so he told me he has to get hold of something and will ring me again tomorrow to see if we can't get to the bottom of the problem.   It will play DVD's with sound etc so it is baffling him!   I'm not going to worry too much if we can't solve the problem as I have Amazon music app with music already on so can listen to that and also on my radio/cd player.

AQ - just seen that you have both been under the weather with nasty coughs, do hope you both feel a lot better soon. Hope you manage your trip on Sunday.

Had some old friends of OH down from Nottingham today for lunch and a catchup - very pleasant afternoon.  Off to the gym tomorrow and hopefully I will get up to speed. Having hair trimmed on Saturday, it needs it.

  • BRENDA - its a shame you're still suffering. I hate that sore ribs feeling, when you have coughed so much it hurts. {HUGS} Hope it improves soon. ANNETTE - We stopped eating too much bread a while ago, after we went on a holiday and inexplicably put on weight in spite of eating salads and no between meal snacks. We realised we had enjoyed too much of the yummy local bread with everything we had! Speaking of about turns in eating habits, for years & years I have cooked with Sunflower oil, having been told its good for you. Occasionally I use Olive Oil. Now we're told that Sunflower Oil is only OK if its uncooked, ie as in salad dressings. So now I've changed to Rapeseed Oil. I expect after five years or so we'll be told they got that wrong, too.
