HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's chat thread is here.
Hi, all. I just thought I'd start the new thread since Annette has been busy with family/friends and is probably tired.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Not long before autumn now.
Morning all: Supposed to be the hottest day of the heatwave today, so went to Trader Joe's early but won't making it to the Farmers' Market.
AQ: Love your travel destinations. But what, no photos?
Lindybird: Sounds like a great day and good traffic to boot. We'll just have to look forward to all those photos once you've got the computer sorted. Maybe the answer to Bonnie's high energy levels is another dog to play with? I can hear the howls of protest (from you) from here! :-)
Brenda: Best thoughts here to for your OH!
Margo: Lots of energy and strength winging their way to you as I type.
Pesky fountain was running well so we decided to leave it going at night instead of turning it off as usual. Anyway, fountain switch is next to light switch in garage and yes, someone (the cat?) inadvertently turned off the wrong one last night. Grrrrr. Off to shout at it (the fountain).
Good evening, all. Just done my weekly sign in (the Community used to sign me out every Wednesday but now it's every Sunday!!). What a strange routine.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

The site does require sign-in after the tech staff performs some types of maintenance work, so you'll have to sign in once in a while regardless of your own Internet settings. But I don't have to sign in very often.
I hope this helps someone.

Good evening, all. Kept busy today – some dead-heading of everlasting pea on garden arch, usual food prep etc, directing more emptying of garage – another load to the tip tomorrow – and then watering this evening. All today’s dinner veg were from the garden – carrots, courgettes and potatoes – and will have runner beans and courgette tomorrow, and peas again later in the week.
Linda – pleased to see you had good weather and roads on Saturday, and enjoyed your time with Amber. Good idea to give Bonnie a short trial in kennels; her social life sounds quite busy!
Brenda – had to read back to find out about your OHs renewed Glaucoma – I hope the eye drops relieve the problem.
Heather – I hope you enjoyed some runner beans today; we picked quite a good meal’s worth on Friday! Glad Callum sorted the car.
Annette – I hope the fountain restarted after inadvertent switch-off!
Clare – I only seem to need to sign in when I have been away more than a couple of days. Thought it was because of signing in via the Surface (can’t be signed in on both machines at same time) but it wasn’t working right this time, so didn’t use it online (it has righted itself now – and installed Windows10, which OH and J still do not have!)
Margo – if you are still reading this thread, I am thinking of you and your OH facing difficult times.
And so to bed – well, supper now to be ready for bed at a reasonable time as J prepares for return to work this Tuesday; his summer break seems to have flown by.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
HI ALL. We were supposed to have a cloudy day, but it rained for a few hours and then stayed cool and cloudy.
I knew that one house in our village had been hit by lighting strikes, last Thursday, but I learnt today that there had been three, during various times of the storms. They do look very badly damaged and one is completely burnt to the ground. The residents were not badly injured, thank goodness.
I only have to sign in on here, when I clear my history etc. which I do quite frequently.
I received an e-mail from Margo yesterday. She says that she is a MOB again. The leak is not repaired yet and they are having intermittent problems with their phone and internet. The engineer is coming tomorrow. I think you can imagine how she is feeling. She is having to cope with her illness.
Which one of you bought a pent house in New York for $100 million ????
Brenda: Re that NY penthouse, it was me! Just kidding. But do tell. It must've been right on Central Park. I would be a MOB with all the domestic upheaval Margo is going through, let alone being unwell on top of it. Gosh, that's awful about the lightning strikes, especially the house that burned completely.
Diane: I have to sign in every Sunday evening now (Monday in the UK) since they last did something to the site.
OG: Fountain still being naughty. Any feedback on Windows 10 so far? Several of our neighbors are back in town from summer travels; our local Uni starts up 8/27. Have made a note to stock up on groceries before the stores are inundated with lightly clad girls with long blonde hair and suntans meandering lazily up and down the aisles with their baskets, iPhones in hand....
Lindybird: Hope I didn't plant any serious "second dog" ideas in OH's head!
Off to shout at fountain again....
