Hi Sheila I just added the text that goes with the Glaslyn picture.
I have appreciated watching Glaslyn, since Odin left. It has been a real bonus to the season, and really drawn me in to this nest. I spent a week on the Lynn Peninsula earlier in the month and visited the site twice. Folk were very friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic.
Good morning all. Its now officially autumn and i love it. We have hade torrential rain and flooding in places. I think about our ospreys sunning themselves :) Hope they have a safe journey to wherever they spend their winters. I see that white 14 is taking his time heading south!
Would like to visit Glaslyn one day but first id like to go to Dyfi.
Bore Da Willow and SheilaFe and any readers. This news and ccolorful photo from Facebook. Unfortunately this snippit won't pick up the end of the article.
But first of all Willow I'd have to see the Loch Garten nest & family, then explore the locks and towns thereabouts. Then enjoy Lochter nest & facilities for a while.
After that I'd be ready for a visit to Dyfi.
Lucky you to have seen Rutland, but that would not be my first choice. But after seeing my three favorites, I wonder if I would be eager to watch them all.
From Facebook. TO CONTINUE THE GLASLIN STORY FROM ABOVE POST.
Hello June good morning. Perhaps one day you might make the trip to see the Loch Garten family? I think my favorites have been the Rutland families as its the only nest I have ever been able to watch even then only bits and pieces. Then Dyfi because I just love Monty and his wonderful family but do not know much about Glaslyn or Lochter. I can only concentrate on a few as my brain can only accommodate very small amounts of information !
White 14 is a favorite too as i was upset when his sister died on migration in the sahara I dont know why this tugged at my heart so much more than any others! I guess wwell never know why some get to us more than others! Oh yes and of course our beloved Breagh who is doing well:) White14 of Lake district ospreys is an exceptional bird as he has travelled so far even to Norway and Sweden. I expect others have also explored huge areas and I think some that we think have died have maybe set up home there!
Hi Folks - I have been out of wi fi zone for two weeks apart from a brief spell last weekend.
My first catch up today is the bad news that Breagha appears to have come to some harm. His last signal came from the Gironde River in France about 10 days ago and it appears not to be a transmitter problem.
Another two year old bird that looked so promising for a return to Scotland - rather alike Rothes and Caledonia.
Will catch up with news and posts and will post over the weekend.
