Hallo All:
Brenda: Sorry your celebration got postponed; hope your OH is doing better.
Heather: So, did the BBQ go ahead? Hope so.
Spent ages spreading mulch around the front garden this morning. Got totally filthy. Also was bent over under the olive trees much of the time. Rewarded myself with a very long rest in my chair in the garden; book and nap included. Will probably topple into bed early tonight.
Here's to a good week. Hope Margo had a fab time with her OH.
Bumping this up. Don't know what happened with the link to this page, but oh well....
Limpy has seen an osprey at Minsmere! Woo Hoo!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Alan: That would be hard number to fake on video. Here, folks will say 10,000 people showed up to an event when only 4,000 were there. But given your observation that 10 Scottish men were equal to one of anyone else's that would translate into the equivalent of 1,000! :-) (Wonder what the population of the town is.)
Clare: I bet that put Limpy over the moon. Your turn next!
Alan: Well I exaggerated - apparently only 500 showed up according to your earlier ratio. :-)
Looking in quickly, I will catch up later. Linda has no internet connection. They may need a new hub which could take a couple of days to arrive.
I guess you are all suffering with this continuous rain. It feels so cold too. Only 14c here today.
Brenda: Thanks for letting us know that Lindybird's connection has gone down.
Hello All, I am back home now after five weeks away, two and half weeks after my op. I have been looking in at everybody's news, but did not post as the time seemed to pass by in a sort of blur of painkillers, ice-packs, etc. I am walking with one stick now and better but still in quite a lot of pain and I have not really got my appetite back to normal yet. My son drove me back (plus tortoises and Amber) on Friday which took us eleven hours and was a bit painful for my knee but we had several stops to exercise it. He opened up the house and soon got the Rayburn going which warmed up the house again, it was nice to see my garden again although it is all a bit out of control, a lot of things need tying up, and dead things cutting off, etc. Yesterday, my son got a taxi to Inverness Airport and flew down to Bristol where his wife and family met him to continue on their journey down to Cornwall on holiday. Then, in the afternoon, my youngest son and family arrived here to stay for two weeks. I was very pleased to see my granddaughters, they are so lively and always cheer me up. They are very much into ponies as always but also fairies and Harry Potter, and have bought heaps of dressing up clothes with them. Have just been called into evening meal so must go now, back soon .
The tooth fairy visited our house last night as granddaughters tooth came out at tea-time. She wrote a long letter to the tooth fairy asking if she is the same one who visits her in England and got a reply back saying she is the Scottish tooth fairy and wears a pink tartan dress!!!!
