Day began with Skydancing at 3:38 AM and Odin's visit to the nest less than an hour later. It was a wet morning. He managed to bring EJ a fish around 6:15 AM after a downpour. Though Blue Darvic CS9 featured prominently the day before, there was no sight of Blue Darvic yesterday. Instead, Odin and EJ sat distantly on their various perches during a windy day, with Odin occasional visiting the nest. Near the end of the day, a stick kicked up in the wind and hit him in the face. :-/
An excellent new Blog post details all the haunts our pair frequent in the course of the day.

I have to go and eat Sheila. Won't be too long and I'm recording.

Hello all. Lovely to hear EJ but I hope she gets her fish soon!

I have been popping in and out and lurking. I can't believe that EJ needs a fish both morning and evening. She has had very little activity and she has had plenty of time to prepare for migration. Maybe it is just to make sure that she keeps Odin 'on his toes', but she seems to be able to eat the fish.
Perhaps it keeps the bond alive, after all, she is perfectly capable and free to fish for herself. And may well have done so!
I am sure you are right, Sheila, but she must have hollow legs :-)) We don't see her return any to Odin, recently.
I'm back. Hi Scylla and Brenda.
I think it's a bond/reminder that he is not to bring strange girls home. She owns this nest and he needs to feed her!
I thought Odin was coming just then! And still she calls!
Besides, if Odin eats much more fish, we're going to have to start calling him fat boy! He has grown in girth somewhat recently. He's not getting the exercise that he normally does at this time, with non stop fishing trips.

He must be flying around.
