Three's a crowd! Yesterday there was a persistent intruder around quite a lot. Odin was alarm calling on and off for most of the day. It approached the nest several times and touched down briefly at 20.08 but made a full landing with Odin there at 20.18. It was only there for a minute before both birds took to the air.
We did however have some lovely viewing from the mobile cam. Thank you cam operator. EJ was especially lovely to watch as she sat and preened in the camera tree with the VC in the distance. Also Odin Skydancing and delivering a big fish to EJ was lovely to see from a side angle.
What will today bring? Watch this space :)
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Good morning, all!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Two birds incoming. First Odin, then second bird flies on, probably EJ looking for fish. He's back again with cheepsEJ takes a pass and Odin ducks silently. A quick pose .........gone a minute later
You're spoiling us today, Odin:
I did get a glimpse of someone flying past the nest as I was taking these so at least one intruder is definitely about.
Someone's on the campost
