Getting a late start tonight, but no rush. EJ on nest; all is quiet.
Cirrus : Sorry I should have explained. Last year 1st egg laid on the 16th and last on the 22nd. this year 1st laid on 15th and last on the 21st. 1st hatch 21st may?
Thank you for that Alan - three days between each egg. Odin appeared when Buzzards called - very protective even if the Buzzards were not a threat. Still trying to find my info about egg one hatching last year Alan.
Mmm, I'm undecided. I see I have May 21 and 22 Alan. Not good.
EDIT - I've found evidence for 22 May Alan but can't remember my original source. Rats !
No chance of breakfast yet Linda. Odin has just visited his wife and eggs and has just left.
Fantastic news, always miss the laying but that doesn't really matter. Hopefully before too long 3 chicks(like last year) will be wih us.

I see on the Diary Page, Tiger is asking, 'will there be a 4th egg'. I definitely hope there isn't !
Alan - the first egg this year was definitely laid on 14 April in the evening. I was party to that. But Iwas out when egg two was laid . Can you give me a date for egg 2 - I'm confident it was three days later (ie.17th) but would like confirmation. Third egg laid early morning.
Cirrus: According to the official blog the first chick (Rothes) was first spotted at 5:50 am on 22nd May last year.
Average incubation time for Ospreys is about 37 days. Last year's hatch dates: I have 22 May, 24 May, 27 May.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Many many thanks Sandy. Can you confirm when egg 2 was laid this year?
EDIT silly me _ I just visited the Official Blog Sandy DUH !
