Hallo all:
OG: Love the photo of the two ducks (not sure which kind). But which of you got down on the ground to get that shot? The details on the drake are really striking.
Heather: I remember Circassian Circles - but only the name! What a wonderful time you had, sounds like so much fun.
Rita: Congratulations on your knee. Good for you. Seems like a lots of folks on here will be happy to cheer you along in rehab. :-) Do you have one of those walkers? (I think they call them Zimmer frames over there).
I'll be up at 6 a.m. to watch Federer/Djokovich game.
Here's to a good week for everyone and hope Margo is doing okay.
The official account.
Birdies LG DU update.
On one memorable occasion, back in August 2011, they had a satellite tagged osprey - Tore from LG! Wish I'd seen her.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Annette – try googling “Scotch pancakes”, these are the ones also called “drop scones” around here – also great for breakfast with either fruit or bacon and maple syrup! Sorry about heat and humidity. We just had another humid night; OH managed to sleep, but J and I didn’t. Supposed to be good mowing weather today, but no breeze to dry the grass so far.
Lynette – got confused about AW, because a local Osprey had that as his Darvic ring, then realised you meant Autumn Watch (maybe I am not so awake after all!). OH took those photos at Caerlaverock last week, but it was I who spotted the potential for the swan in the reeds, but I wasn’t tall enough to get the photo I could “see”. Enjoy the Garden Party, whether indoors or out!
Clare – I hope the Albatross puts in a repeat appearance for either you or Limpy to photograph it!
Heather – will let you know by email our plans for early October visit.
Mike – thanks for the link re Minsmere Albatross.
J at the gym, OH waiting for grass to dry – better find something to do till then! This evening is Gardening Group – I think we have a cooking demonstration, “Cooking with the Harvest”. Not a lot to cook with in our garden – courgettes and peas are slow this year, although cucumbers are producing well, and tomatoes and runner beans are promising.
More from Martin Mere - apologies if any are repeats!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
By the way the live LG cam is showing EJ sitting on a branch.
Helen is much better. I'm glad term finishes next week, though.
