SUMMERTIME - and the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the Flowers are high
One of these mornin's
You're gonna rise up singin'
Then you'll spread your wing's
And you'll take to the sky.
June, You are not the only one who buys orchids as though they were cut flowers--a friend of ours does that as well. We are unfortunately very good at killing them off, not intentionally, you understand! But we do enjoy them while they last, though we do not buy them very often. You must be doing something right if you have had them re-bloom--congratulations!
Kind regards, Ann

Although I served with the RN for 25 years as an Engineer I never served at Chatham Royal Dockyard or never took a ship there. I have a work colleague who worked in the dockyard in the refit of Nuclear Submarines at Chatham. I did a refit at Devonport and Rosyth dockyards.
June - You tried to follow The Ryder Cup (Golf) at Gleneagles but the rules did puzzle you.
I suggest you maybe try CRICKET even stranger rules. here are a few.
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that’s been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game - MAYBE/MAYBE NOT - this is probably the only sport in existence that can last a full five days and might not end up with a winner.
CRICKET!?!!??? NO WAY, Keith!! :)
But seriously, I should be able to find St Andrews televised on some channel & will follow it;. I'll look for you in the crowds. Wave if you see me. Did I say seriously/?? Oh well!
Ann, I have had quite a few die. The first to bloom was absolutely fantastic: two stalks, each with 17 to 20 blooms on it. Bigger & better than when I bought it. Can.t remember the color.
The above picture shows two buds which have now opened and the plant has four blooms.
Quick snaps of the two plants I have on hand now. I have had them about a month, with no care. They seemed past due for a little water, which I just gave them.
Don't know how I got down here dodging water puddles when it seems the road is up there. I think I'm lost.
NO! Not lost! I'm going right through the course. St Andrews Links, the greatest golf course in the world. Imagine that!
Yes! I thought I was close to water!
