Who said we did not need a daily DU thread?
The excitement today was that EJ decided to take a break from Loch Garten and its problems. Sensing an opportunity an EJ lookalike took the opportunity to press her claim to be the new queen of Loch Garten.
We are not sure of her ID yet but she has a blue ring on her left leg an it may have the letters TA but that is not certain.
She even persuaded Odin to bring her a fish which was well spotted by scylla.
So the big question is whether this is just an incident or is it a significant change at Loch Garten?
Where might EJ be? Not over visiting Blue XD we hope. He is all alone after a failed nest and his wife Green J going off on holiday.
Tiger Signature
Glad that we have identified the Ring Number, thanks to Grannie Smith for the heads up.
Well the fact that Keith Brockie rung Blue YD at Balgavies in 2012, and Blue YZ at Lowes in 2013 may indicate that it is a run of rings that he has, so may be a bird from the area he rings birds in.
I suppose we will have to wait until Roy gets back to them.
Edit: He also rung Blue YE too...
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
I thought Roy rung the Lowes chicks both 44 and YZ. He must have just rung 44.
Well I believe he has been the ringer for Lowes, by the information which shows in the Visitor Centre LMac, which says was provided by Keith Brockie, so I presumed that he was the ringer, and Roy is the fitter of the Sat Tags....
Do not know for certain though.
I do know for definite though that he rung Blue YD at Balgavies, the warden told me that in 2013. Roy was there too and fitted the Sat Tag.
Anyway we will hopefully find out some time who the cheeky Madam is that dare venture into EJ's territory :-)
Everyday is a school day Mary. I hadn't realised ringer and sat fitter could be different but both present. Thanks for that.
The battle continues. EJ touched down and off
