DAILY UPDATE ~ Loch Garten Nest ~ Tuesday 16th June 2015

Yesterday it was nice to see Odin and EJ in the love tree other than that all was  quiet.

We start a new day again all is so  quiet and no one on the nest at this moment in time.

I think Odin is the MOST HANDSOME OSPREY I HAVE EVER SEEN.

He is exceptionally gorgeous, though Monty at Dyfi gives him some very serious competition!

I only have two webcams up at a time - I'd go nuts if I tried to follow any more.  I do look in on the Rutland (my closest nest) and Loch of the Lowes threads but my main attention will always focus on LG and Dyfi.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • OSM, you should have seen Henry, from years past. He was an amazing all round Osprey. I would have married him.

Odin is getting there too, so come out from behind the sofa :D

I'll have to have a good look at Dyfi, then (oh dear, more time to be spent on webcams when should be doing other things) but I doubt I'll transfer my allegiance! Over the past 4 years, Odin has endeared himself to me with his personality - such a conscientious father - and now to be able to see in such detail, with the new camera, what a great looker he is - what more could a girl want? EJ is a very lucky lady!

I never saw Henry (before I started watching) but am pleased you think Odin is catching up with him. It's amazing the way these birds can endear themselves to us, isn't it, even though the only actual sightings any of us will have seen is from a distance through binoculars. I will have to come out from behind the sofa now, as I MUST catch up with all the things I'm supposed to be doing. So it's a temporary farewell to the forum, and to the webcam, as Odin continues to perch imperiously on his branch, snowy white chest feathers ruffling gently in the breeze....ah well, be back later!
  • If you want a good look at Dyfi's Monty, Oldshoremore, check out this link.  This is the Dyfi thread from last September - Monty spent days posing before he finally left on the 7th.  There are quite a lot of pages to look through but the captures are massively worth it!

  • It's Odin the Magnificently Headless:

  • Hi Everyone, back for a quick catch up.

WOW what fantastic captures of Odin you all have been posted this morning.....

I think Odin is the Clark Gable and Monty the Errol Flyn of the Osprey world, does this make me ancient Ha Ha....   now when I think of more of these Ospreys we follow I could do a long list of all the gorgeous ones. :-)

  • Odin's softer side, a nap and a stretch.

Let's try this way round    Nope, turn back around
