Hallo all. Long day out; nice to see grandson and partner and see photos from the Bahamas. Had a strawberry waffle for breakfast, but was seriously taken aback by frozen strawberries - this in a town literally surrounded by strawberry fields and farm stands bursting at the seams with luscious ripe berries.
Off to catch up with last few posts from the previous week.
Hi Annette, Margobird, Lindy, Brenda, George, we've had internet here in Methoni only for about 3 hours in the mornings if we're lucky which is why( have to share laptop with hubby) sometimes its all I can do to trawl through picking up the news. YOu are so observant Brenda -- been discovering some of the other nests, some sad stories,, some heartwarming!! such fantastic photos from Badger, Scylla and Moffer to name just a few. well some, its overwhelming so now I'm forgetting everyones names etc!! But i'm here and keen to stay in touch. I've today found a lovely video from a Greek facebook friend for ( lady who loves Goldfinches () but cant paste it so for Goldfinch lady its www.facebook.com/20min/videos/10152817356286957/---- phew the tension!!
I'm on facebook as Vivienne McCabe if anyone wants to see our travel photos, ( married name) ...... Hubby is a singer songwriter and on youtube if anyone would like a little look!! Its getting very hot now, sitting in AC in the afternoons, well sleeping ... painting only in mornings, after yoga. what a busy life, when did I ever find time for 44 years of full time work!!
Heather, If we don't hear from you before you leave, do have a safe and easy journey South. I hope all goes well for mum and baby.
I also hope that your OH's BP will be fine when he sees the Dr tomorrow. X
Vivienne, I just noticed on the Fenrir Page, that you have left a message for OG to say that you have left a link for her on the Gabfest Page. I think you mean here, on our Weekly Page, if you mean your post above at 7.08pm. This is a live link www.facebook.com/20min/videos/10152817356286957/
OG will definitely see it on here :-))
Loved your goldfinch video link, Vivienne. I have never seen a goldfinch that tame.
BRENDA Thank you. I will report on OH and his BP tomorrow. The great thing is that of course I will be online once I get to Mike and Barbara's home. I believe that Sam is very excited both about the baby and seeing his Nana :-))
Thankyou Brenda, I do get mixed up between blogs, gabfest, weekly chat, non osprey chat etc, but loving it all!
I must have something lacking with my laptop as on here I cant cut paste copy or insert anything, my only complaint!
Hello Everyone - I am very relieved to say that I now have a new hot water tank installed and a new M.O.T. certificate, both done yesterday. all I needed were new windscreen wipers, and my garage mechanic ( whose eye accident turned out to be not too serious) has also got my car all ready for going off on Saturday morning, tyres, oil, windscreen wash all done. The plumber spent all morning doing the tank, I am so pleased to get rid of the bucket of leaking water now. I ordered a new mobile smart phone which arrived yesterday so I spent a large part of the afternoon setting it up and trying to find out how everything works. It was a bit puzzling until I managed to find the online manual for my model which is very good and explains a lot of things that I was having difficulty with. Anyway, my grandsons will help me with anything I need to know when I get there, three of them to give me advice! I still have a great long list of things to do before I go, washed the outside of the car this morning ( having done the inside already) gave my gardener the key to come in and water the plants in my conservatory and open and shut windows in there, and also to water some pots outside. Thank goodness my cactus can go without water while I am away, I would not like to ask anyone to do that as it takes about 2 hours! I also went to the Hairdressers this afternoon so that is another thing ticked off my list. Also, turned my handbag out completely, it is now a lot lighter! ( why do I wait to do these things until I go away?)
Heather - I hope you enjoy your visit down south, they will all be very pleased to see you I am sure.
Annette - Hope you will enjoy your nice cool room now!
Lindy - Welcome home, hope you enjoyed your holiday, and that Bonnie enjoyed herself too.
George - Sorry that you have had a hassle with changing your provider, I had an awful time when I cancelled a Skye package that I no longer wanted, I thought that I would never hear the last of it!
Margo - Hope you will feel like posting soon, sending you my thoughts with a picture from my garden , taken this morning.

Rita, So pleased that your car and water tank are now fine before you travel South. Such a relief for you. Also. great that your gardener will water your plants for you. Just make sure you don't forget to pack anything and don't forget Amber LOL
How beautiful, Rita - thanks for posting. Glad to hear you have some problems sorted, although I've not had time to read back yet, to read about it. Sounds as if you've had a glum time with the hot water tank!
