WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, JUNE 7. 2015

Hallo all!

  • Thanks, Annette. Had a busy day, got everything done this morning and also managed to do laundry. Packed up a few things this afternoon, & did the inevitable ironing. Yesterday,Friend came around and was pleased to see the results of my photographing both our pups playing together.
  • Hello all

Yes, quiet on here today but I hope that means all are busy...

ANNETTE, do you have water butts? My brother has several arranged around his house to catch rainfall.

LYNETTE- Hope you get more swimming in and that the water will be warmer! My middle daughter gets to swim every day as part of her gym membership.

BRENDA- You have big jobs to do in the garden, obviously, and I don't envy you. We have just spent another day planting and pruning. OH is not so confident up ladders these days so I have to stop what I'm doing and hold the ladder. The other thing we did today was to pressure hose the sittooterie area,it took ages. Anyway, we had our evening meal outside tonight, such a treat. Grandson Callum phoned while we were eating to say that they were enjoying a meal outside as well. How long will we gat this weather for?!!!!

LINDY- have a great time in Wales.

I've run out of speak, take care, all.

  • Missed yesterday, but was only a travelling day!  Very  good here, and comfortable.  Wonderful weather so far.

Monty and Glesni send their love!  Well, they would if they could.  Spent most of the day at Cors Dyfi - watching them or talking about them!  AND, because I used the scooter to get to the observatory, I decided to have an attempt at the steps, and got up to the middle level - all wonderfully designed with quite shallow steps and really good handrails.  Everyone very friendly there.  Blue 24 was visible all the time - they said she actually landed on the nest yesterday!

Haven't read all the posts, but will just say I am thinking of MARGO and GEORGE, hope LINDA has a good time at the caravan - and LYNETTE, I remember taking our two girls to visit the Butterflies at Williamson Park!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Hi Folks. Busy day here. Cloudy, windy morning here, so the whole house is now clean. Went to Merriments Gardens for lunch, bought two new garden plants and 20kg of sunflower hearts. The sun was shining this afternoon, so OH cut the grass. OH has a hospital appointment tomorrow morning. They are resurfacing the main road outside of the hospital, so we have to take an 11 mile detour to get there and then the same again to return home !!

Heather, It has been too windy to enjoy a meal outside yet, Pleased you are getting some warmer weather at last. I am not sure if the humid weather is going to reach as far up as you live. The weather warning says that France is sending us another batch of humid temperatures with severe thunderstorms from lunchtime Friday, through to Saturday. I had to water our pots and baskets this evening, though.

Linda, Have a good drive to Wales and enjoy yourself. Loved your puppy photograph.

AQ, You can make me feel tired, just reading everything that you manage to do, in a day.

Lynette, I hope the swimming pool water is warmer for you, tomorrow.

I need to go to bed now. Feeling rather tired.

  • OG, How wonderful that you spent so much time at Dyfi and were able to climb the steps in the observatory. Seeing B24 must have been a bonus. I did see photographs of her landing on the nest. Hope the good weather continues for the rest of your holiday.

  • Brenda - that's some detour!! Hope you don't have a long wait when you eventually get to the hospital. OG - ditto from me, so pleased that you were able to really enjoy Dyfi. Love to Monty & Glesni from us, too!!
  • Evening all:

Lindybird:  Forgot to thank you for ordering the rain. Can you make it a bi-weekly standing order?  Cute pix of Bonnie and buddy.  Have a lovely trip!!

Heather:  I was thinking I should have water butts as I was driving home yesterday.  We didn't really expect this much rain - any rain between April and November is unusual, but it's something to think about before next winter.  Here's to more eat-outside evenings.

OG: Nice to read your daily updates on your trip.

Margo/George: Hope you're both doing okay.

Brenda/Lynette: Fingers crossed for warmer weather/pool water and that detours involve no additional delays.

Planted some lovely deep purple salvia today - the hummingbirds love it. Soil was so soft and easy to work with thanks to the rain; more to do tomorrow before it gets all hard and clay-ey again.

  • Goodness!! its quiet on here!

I've been busy packing, cleaning and trying to wrest my scissors from Bonnies jaws - she stole them from a table by climbing up on a chair first, then ran around the garden with the sharp ends in her mouth!  Tried to lure her away with other toys and eventually got her to drop them by rattling a biscuit box. Another ten minutes wasted, and sharp teeth marks on my scissors, now.

Hope everyone in UK gets some of this lovely sunshine, its drying my towels now and in the garden, all my lovely oriental poppies are opening. I will miss some of them, sadly :-(

Take care of yourselves, especially dear Margo and George.
