Yes Lmac, I have just read it, and am a teeny bit dissappointed that we didn't get more info, but still glad to get a report  that it all went well.

I also am disappointed there being no mention of weight, wingspan etc as I have no doubts that Roy would have recorded all this!

But what surprised me was reading FR2 was ringed in the nest!  I suppose this is because I always thought when chicks were being tagged that all the chicks were examined and assessed for suitability?  

I agree Karen, I always thought they weighed them first, then tagged the 2 heaviest, and checked them all over.

I thought it was normally two eldest out of three - due to size and suitability for the back pack.

Yes Lmac, it usually is the eldest two as the third is usually smaller but  not always!

If I remember right at LG was it not  touch and go between Garten and Mallachie as to who Roy tagged as there was no difference in size?
