Good Morning, Everyone. Sunny here, after a mixed day yesterday. Was jealous to hear about those of you who have spoken/seen Dame Judy perform, she is wonderful. Tina, I saw the documentary you mentioned when it was first shown and I enjoyed it. The bit where she sings "Send in the Clowns" brings tears to my eyes. I've got floors to clean today, after all the doggy feet in & out yesterday, and this afternoon my OH has a funeral to go to of a chap who did not have his cancer diagnosed until it was too late for treatment to be effective.

Annette - like you, I don't have much in the diary for this week, so am going to tackle lots of things which have been nagging at me. Since a certain small person arrived in the household, the dusting & tidying seems to have gone to pot!

ps - just seen the 92 year old lady in a USA marathon! Well done her! Makes me feel rather feeble!

Morning - got to hose down early then go to help OH buy some extra summer shirts for holiday.

Good morning everyone

We arrived home from Denmark at about 6pm yesterday. The journey was reasonably straightforward, car from Thurø to Esbjerg Airport (about two hours) flight from Esbjerg to Aberdeen - a quick hop across the North Sea - then train to Inverness and a taxi home.

The funeral was Lutheran, simple and moving. The pastor,during his homily, thanked us,in English,for attending. People came bearing flowers arranged in tied bunches which were laid in a line down the aisle,ending in front of the coffin. The family wreath was sitting on top of the white casket. After the service the family picked up the casket and carried it out of the church. So the old man passed over the carpet of flowers as he went to his resting place.

We returned to a wet and cold Aberdeen and not much different here although the sun is shining here in Inverness at present.

Heather glad you're both back home safe. The service sounds just beautiful, how moving. Reminds me of my much loved cousin who was laid in a whiker coffin with white daisies interwoven into it, she loved nature.

Limpy has previously expressed a wish for his ashes to be popped into a jam jar to keep costs down!!!
