Last night when I started the DU thread I thought it might almost be the last one of the year. Little I knew that come morning EJ would be back incubating the egg.
EJ did spend most of the day on the egg but has now abandoned it again.
So we reach 22 May traditionally the last day for egg laying in the osprey season in Scotland. It is hard to believe that the egg laying season is over for another year and the hatching is about to begin. The male ospreys are going to have a hard time for the next one hundred or so days.
For once Odin will be excused.

Yes lets hope so Patily. Hope you are having a nice day.

Thanks MARY Not so good
I think you did an LG movie from a different perspective, MARY - maybe soon you could post it here to give members who've never been there even more insight.
Unquote.....
THANKS SCYLLA - I was told last week when I was on the north west coast by our friend from the BC that Tiger had posted a link to the Loch Garten Video on Osprey Chat I think..... So better not go for overkill Heee Heee.....

Sorry to hear that Patily :-( :-(
Mary, Thank you once again. A lovely Blog/Post and charming photos. You are so thoughtful.
Oh Mary, thank you so much for your wonderful report from LG. I'm so glad that you saw EJ, hiding in foliage. I was concerned when she didn't come for Odin's big fish this morning, and again a while later when he had eaten some more.
Good to know that you saw him flying, and if EJ saw him, he saw her too :)
You do write a lovely post Mary. There's something for everyone. Love the little vole. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
MARY, Many thanks for your very informative post, you definitely get the position of "reporter-in-residence". Just have to sort out how we pay you!! Great to know they are both ok and look forward to seeing them when we are up at the beginning of August.
Thank you Mary.
Birdies LG DU update.
Thanks everyone for your nice comments, makes it all worthwhile, as the bar man in you know where Mike has just said does she never speak to you, she has her head in that thing every day ha ha.....
Just one more day tomorrow so hopefully I will see EJ and Odin then and maybe get some better photos to post for you.

Every year I say its never long enough LMac, 6 days in May and 12 days in July. I could easily spend a month here. :-)
