Last night when I started the DU thread I thought it might almost be the last one of the year. Little I knew that come morning EJ would be back incubating the egg.
EJ did spend most of the day on the egg but has now abandoned it again.
So we reach 22 May traditionally the last day for egg laying in the osprey season in Scotland. It is hard to believe that the egg laying season is over for another year and the hatching is about to begin. The male ospreys are going to have a hard time for the next one hundred or so days.
For once Odin will be excused.

Perhaps EJ has gone fishing and got a bigger one.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

He's back with the fish:
Bless him. He's waiting with it.
Someone on nest quietly chirping with FISH, must be Odin again, breaking our hearts again as he waits for EJ... who doesn't come :'(
He's giving embryonic alarm tweets among sweet tweets:
IMAGICAT
He's flown.
He left and I think went into a brief skydance.

Yesterday evening but I can't remember the time without checking the DU.
Good morning, PATILY :-*
He alarmed called and left. Started as contact calls but turned to alarm. Not great that EJ has not been around since last night. Hope she is not aware bothering Blue XDs nest.
It was about 2110pm
