Last night when I started the DU thread I thought it might almost be the last one of the year. Little I knew that come morning EJ would be back incubating the egg.
EJ did spend most of the day on the egg but has now abandoned it again.
So we reach 22 May traditionally the last day for egg laying in the osprey season in Scotland. It is hard to believe that the egg laying season is over for another year and the hatching is about to begin. The male ospreys are going to have a hard time for the next one hundred or so days.
For once Odin will be excused.

hatching at MB just now :-))
Yes, Odin's white bar is much smaller on his right shoulder .
It wasn't Odin. Face too white, orange patch too high up, pretty sure that it was Fen.
Oh golly, what a time to be without access to vids and cams. Thank you so very much for the news.

Hi Sheila. Hope your having a lovely time.
Alarm calls off cam........and again. Sounded like EJ.
Good evening all, well what a different day today, not so many post to have to catch up on. Typical the very time that the boy brings in a whopper for the girl, where is she? away somewhere else, he even comes back a second time. Don't like seeing that Fenrir around, do not want to have any more upset with the lovely pair, goodness knows they have had their fair share of upset this year. Thanks Mary for the update, it is good to get to know what is happening from base camp.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Super write up of your visit to LG Mary. Thank you for keeping us all so well informed when we can't see much. Just when we were speculating how the rest of the season might go, we have a very unwanted visitor. Oh dear!!! It just goes on and on doesn't it? Will just have to keep watching and reading.
Odin has landed. He silently looks around. Where's EJ?
