Last night when I started the DU thread I thought it might almost be the last one of the year. Little I knew that come morning EJ would be back incubating the egg.
EJ did spend most of the day on the egg but has now abandoned it again.
So we reach 22 May traditionally the last day for egg laying in the osprey season in Scotland. It is hard to believe that the egg laying season is over for another year and the hatching is about to begin. The male ospreys are going to have a hard time for the next one hundred or so days.
For once Odin will be excused.

Thank you for all earlier vids, pics and comments. Lovely to see both of them this morning.
Relieved to see she returned even if briefly. Odin should have upped the game before now with the goods. From such a promising start so very sad to see the nest now
EJ's 6-minute nest visit - once landed, she defended with mantles only. She didn't seem to take any notice of the egg.

Morning all, Shame EJ wasn't about when Odin brought in his fish this morning but great to know she's still around. Gorgeous video yesterday BNN, captures the special feeling of LG beautifully. Will be there early August but will there be anything to see by then? Hope so!
Fb update to say EJ perching in tree.
