It is a strange feeling to be starting a new thread with very little idea of what may or may not be happening later.
The big news of Wednesday was that EJ finally gave up on incubating the egg. I suppose the first point of interest will be how long the egg survives before it is predated.
We have been here before. In 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007 the Loch Garten nest did not produce any chicks. People might like to look over the summary of 2003 2005 and 2007 seasons.

Morning everyone. So EJ has not quite kicked the habit of incubating the duff egg? Oh well I guess all of us take a while to break habits.
Well, that is nice to see. Odin and bonding that is. Let's hope it is kept up for the duration of the season.
Notice that EJ is once again sitting on the egg and calling intermittently for a fish.

Seem so far, its pretty much the same as yesterday.
But a bigger fish tail ? LYNETTE?
Glad to see he brought her the remnants of a fish earlier but she still would like another one!
Well, I have been following the webcam and this thread all day but this is the first time I have been able to access the reply box. I note you Scylla have also been having trouble. I thought it was just me being new and somehow not doing things properly!!! So, there has been what looked like a mating and a tail end of fish. That is good for bonding but we still have EJ sitting and calling for fish. Not straightforward is it?
Nice to see you on here Rusty2, welcome. Hopefully now you can access successfully.
No RUSTY - it isn't straightforward. Odin needs to up his game or I shall reach out with the force and slap his beak
What wonderful news to read. Am on the A74(M) having handed the driving over and caught up. I can see pics not vids. Big smile:)

Don't you think Cirrus, that Odin is weaker and not able to sustain sufficient supplies for a family at the moment?
