It is a strange feeling to be starting a new thread with very little idea of what may or may not be happening later.
The big news of Wednesday was that EJ finally gave up on incubating the egg. I suppose the first point of interest will be how long the egg survives before it is predated.
We have been here before. In 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007 the Loch Garten nest did not produce any chicks. People might like to look over the summary of 2003 2005 and 2007 seasons.

Odins gone too.
Birdies LG DU update.
Hooray :)
Not worth a video, too many cut-outs :-(
Just a tail-end but a fat one ;-)
After this shot EJ disappeared from my screen:
IMAGICAT
EJ is back already!!!! and scolding Odin.
6 minutes!!! I think she may have dropped it. She's one unhappy girl.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
She CANNOT have eaten that fish, surely?! Calling now.
Do you think she possibly dropped it? Even EJ can't eat that fast...can she?
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Relented re video - here is the fish delivery and Odin's reaction (ignored it after a glance), he pottered vaguely and left; EJ returned within about 5 minutes, calling, settled on egg :-/
The glance:
Desultory feak and potter:
Deciding to leave but he just disappeared rather than flew ;-)
I think EJ could easly of have torn that portion of fish and eaten it. It wouldn't have 'touched the sides' as I read one post much earlier on the Dyfi thread re Glesni. It wasn't all that big. It would have been gollup, gollup, gollup, Osprey burp
Thanks SCYLLA, your video made the fish portion look a reasonably snack

This scenario has played out before where she goes off with a tail end and then returns within minutes without it?

Guess that is our answer then Cirrus!
