It is a strange feeling to be starting a new thread with very little idea of what may or may not be happening later.
The big news of Wednesday was that EJ finally gave up on incubating the egg. I suppose the first point of interest will be how long the egg survives before it is predated.
We have been here before. In 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007 the Loch Garten nest did not produce any chicks. People might like to look over the summary of 2003 2005 and 2007 seasons.

Good morning everyone, what a surprise when I logged on to see EJ incubating, I was expecting an empty nest, lovely to see her though, Thank you for the overnight updates, also good to see Odin has made an appearance.
Morning Everyone I wasn't expecting this scene either but pleased she is OK and Odin has been seen
Morning all. Moffer hope you got my IM last night.
Thought the lovely EJ would be around this morning
Good morning Tina and Patily. Trying to feed the dogs, get the washing on etc, and keep one eye on the nest.
EJ has been quiet since Odin left. I think he's gone fishing.

Morning Lmac, yes, thank you.
Lovely to see EJ back to herself with Odin this morning. :D
Good morning all. Your prediction was right Lmac.
Birdies LG DU update.
I hope EJ was wet yesterday because she had caught herself a whopper
Good morning all!
What a performance they put on for you this morning, MOFFER - you deserve it :-*
IMAGICAT
Thank you Scylla :) I didn't sleep well so put my Kindle on. I didn't realise that the pic froze. Refreshed at 4.30 and there she was....calling. A hop, skip and a jump downstairs to see if I was dreaming.
EDIT. My hop skip and a jump took almost 8 minutes :( Not a spring chicken anymore.
Morning all, what a lovely surprise to see EJ back on the nest and hear that they have mated this morning! It is so good to know they are still bonding but surely it would be too late to expect more eggs this year.
