LOL Choco......you had us going! Cuckoo calling in the distance
I really thought that we might get a mini blog tonight.
EJ is close by Tiger, I heard her call a while ago.

Glad you heard the Cuckoo, Pam - I thought I may have imagined it!

Well, apart from the defence of the nest I suppose that is the season ended as far as being parents is concerned. Let's hope they stick around so that they can keep their nest for the next time.

I heard EJ earlier and have been hearing the cuckoo and seeing the lonely egg - and the nest is looking mauve, coming towards dusk. I probably will be asleep by nightcam time.

It's going to be a very long night for the people in the FH. There's no-one to watch on the nest :(
Good night all.
You just never know what is happening off screen, EJ and Odin may well be bonding at the camera tree so don't be downhearted. There are many spots around the reserve where EJ and Odin just sit and hang out together. The season is far from over, we still have 2-3 months of this pair.
Thanks Lmac. It's so stupid feeling sad, but I can't help it.
I'm sure that we will see OUR Ospreys at some point tomorrow. Night all :)
Thankyou all for the updates! Just caught up and seems that EJ no longer incubating the lifeless egg , pleased to see and she can now look after herself and fish and hopefully they will defend the nest for next year. A very sad year never thought the LG nest would fail :( Another lesson learned never to take for granted!
At least they are both well and probably now better position to defend their nest from these pesky intruders!
