It falls to me to start the new thread as we watch and wait with EJ.
Right now she is fast asleep, head under her wing, in all the glory of fuzzy cam
It's now more than two days since she last had a fish from Odin. Yesterday he paid two very brief visits, but arrived empty taloned both times. Why is he not fishing for his mate? We simply do not know.
And still EJ remains magnificently dedicated to her one remaining egg, and has so far resisted going fishing for herself. A zoom yesterday did not reveal obvious damage, but surely previous kicking and three days on the rim of the nest will have taken its toll? Is it trauma that is keeping her brooding, or simply habit? Or is there still a tiny chance something has survived against all the odds? We simply do not know.
All we can do is watch and wait. And so we do. On with another day fellow Ospreyholics!

I've been out this morning, but had the usual problem getting on here, however nothing much has been happening amid buffering and dropping out. When I first managed to get thru, EJ was calling so sadly - over an hour ago. But since then she has been relatively quiet. Her feathers look dry, it is windy. She keeps looking over to 'Odin's perch'.
I am so glad that she has at least had something to eat today, albeit a tiddler's tail end. It is really quite a mystery that once more Odin did not take the opportunity of kicking the egg out. He certainly took a long hard look at it, and seemed to make sure he didn't step on it. I liked OSM's summation at 08.57, and Lmac's further comment just afterwards, too.
It is good to know we have Mary's on-the-spot report to look forward to when she returns home. I will be holding her hand at the VC, thru the ether, as she listens to EJ calling.

14.31 It has been buffering - and I am not sitting at the laptop, but it appears she is still quiet

Thank you, Scylla and Mike - thought it must have been a fish - just had to come running through from the kitchen!

All happening too quick. EJ rose and flew off and immediately returned calling. Odin followed her with a fish. She took off, I started to snip, Odin took off... has the egg broken in the melee??
ENS now Odin has gone too.
Birdies LG DU update.
Is the egg still there on the nest - or has it just been 'shifted' a bit?
Just spotted your comment, Sheila :-D.

Appears to have been shifted a bit. If Mary is at LG she'll be having a fit!!.
She's back and calling as she tries to incubate the egg. Cam is stilting so much I can't see properly. Why is she calling like that. Is it the egg??
