It falls to me to start the new thread as we watch and wait with EJ.
Right now she is fast asleep, head under her wing, in all the glory of fuzzy cam
It's now more than two days since she last had a fish from Odin. Yesterday he paid two very brief visits, but arrived empty taloned both times. Why is he not fishing for his mate? We simply do not know.
And still EJ remains magnificently dedicated to her one remaining egg, and has so far resisted going fishing for herself. A zoom yesterday did not reveal obvious damage, but surely previous kicking and three days on the rim of the nest will have taken its toll? Is it trauma that is keeping her brooding, or simply habit? Or is there still a tiny chance something has survived against all the odds? We simply do not know.
All we can do is watch and wait. And so we do. On with another day fellow Ospreyholics!

I wonder if the heroic splodgologists can work out from the zoom yesterday, which might be the egg that EJ is still incubating? Just a thought :)
- the sharing of which thought neatly bumps this thread back above yesterday's! so feel free to entirely ignore the suggestion too ;)
EJ just had a very brief relief wing stretch, and returned to the egg
And I'm now putting my own head under my wing! Good night!
EJ is awake and chirruping intermittently

Not sure why I'm awake - back to sleep for me!
Good morning and thank you CHOCO! Good morning BIRDSONG! I'm just scrolling thru the night.
Cuckoo started at about 0323hr.
EJ started calling at about 0400hr.
DAYCAM 0418hr:
No sign of Odin.

I will say my 'good morning to all' now as I am awake too early as well!!
Many thanks Choco for your thoughtful intro to this new day in the saga ...
And Birdsong for the lovely night/day captures ...
Cannot say anything informative about in what order this egg was laid, only that the splodgology reminds me of 'Dino' cartoon character!
After watching daybreak over the quarry & listening to the beautiful dawn chorus whilst brewing a cuppa I have returned to bed to visit all our wonderful Osprey nests & wait to read that Odin has brought EJ a fish ... sooner rather than later!!

Your early morning sounds lovely, WENDY, particularly the cuppa - I'm still on water.
EJ had been quiet for a while but suddenly calling loudly now.
Need to take the "now" off the end of the above because it took ages to post.
Rebooting.
Sudden outburst, flew. I heard distant calling and she's back calling, back on egg.
Clears her head ;-)
