I am probably not the best person to be starting this thread right now as I am not that familiar with what has been going on all day. However I know essential a task it is and how tiresome it can become if it falls to the same small group every night.
What I do know is that Odin seems to have his best day since Monday 4th May, the last full day he was in control of the nest.
Well Odin seems to be back in control now and I guess most will be very happy about that with the exception of Finrir.
It will be interesting to see how things progress from here.
Enjoy another day of viewing.

I was thinking how nice a peaceful it all looked, with EJ enjoying the sunshine, and the wind blowing her feathers
and she opened her beak and yelled once more

Well that's another hour gone and I'm off again! BBL
Hi all, Cant believe EJ has been shrieking all day! Thought that maybe Odin was off defending the nest but on reading Lmac's post I see he is just ignoring her.
Could we not have a whip round and have a permanent reporter at LG so that we stop drawing our own conclusions to what's happening. So much better to have an "on the spot report". LOL :0)
It's so quiet that I thought my cam had gone down. EJ is silent, enjoying the afternoon sunshine, albeit a tad windswept.

Sounds like rain :( Only a shower.
Pam - I'm happy to be the On-site reporter, especially if you're going to pay me to go up there!
Here's a question - I've noticed that the "bonding" sessions seem to consist of Odin standing on EJ's back for a while. I've never noticed this before. So my question is, is this a new behaviour and if so does anyone think it's related to the non-egg or his period of absence?
Thanks
During the season, once eggs are laid, EJ doesn't mate, but she will allow Odin to "sit" on her. We call them bonding sessions. It doesn't happen that often in a normal year.
However, as Odin has been away, I feel that they need to bond again as a pair.
There are people here that know much more than I do, but that's my take on it Gill.
Ok GillP, consider yourself a candidate for the post. Not sure about the salary though, the whip round might produce a couple of sticky sweets, an old tissue and an old shopping list! LOL
I agree with you Moffer but a lovely big fish would go a long way to towards bonding again, especially as he knows that EJ has other admirers!
EJ is suddenly alert. She has spotted something
False alarm, back to snoozey time.
