I am probably not the best person to be starting this thread right now as I am not that familiar with what has been going on all day. However I know essential a task it is and how tiresome it can become if it falls to the same small group every night.
What I do know is that Odin seems to have his best day since Monday 4th May, the last full day he was in control of the nest.
Well Odin seems to be back in control now and I guess most will be very happy about that with the exception of Finrir.
It will be interesting to see how things progress from here.
Enjoy another day of viewing.

EJ continues to call, but facing the camera tree now.
I have jobs to do, but I'll be in and out.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Odin has landed and he is looking up. A few cheeps from them both.
Odin has flown
Odin just popped in to say "Sorry, luv, no brekkies yet.....". Met with dignified silence from EJ. Then off he went.

"The Loch here is near to the nest and is the perfect place for young ospreys to practice their diving and hovering skills, however, they’ve yet to discover that Loch Garten is not the most productive of fishing spots. Being heavily peated the Loch does not provide suitable conditions to support large numbers of fish bar a few pike and the murky water makes fishing quite difficult for a hungry osprey. Our experienced parent birds EJ and Odin are well aware of this and despite using the Loch occasionally for bathing they tend to focus their fishing efforts around the River Spey (and the fish farm!) where fishing is easier and more productive."

I recently saw, in amongst the discussions, that males are more likely to return to their natal area.
INTRUDER! Odin calling on nest.
IMAGICAT
Odin is back alarm calling
I wish that they would pull the cam back to it's proper position!
Rich_20 said:Given you learned watchers have remarked upon the similarity of Odin and Fen with the prospect that it could be one of the 2010 brood returning I am beginning to wonder if Breagha returned to the nest site in a future year it would add credence to the prospect of this year's "intruder" simply returning home!
We hope that Breagha will be winging his way north any day now. It will be interesting to see what he does.
EJ has 23 fledged chicks since 2004 Now 20 of those have been ringed and three not ringed. Now of the 20 ringed ones the only one we know of that is still alive is Breagha. Not one of the others have been identified as returning in any way. Thus the idea that the three unringed ones somehow fared better is just not an idea that there is any credence to.
I don't like it when Odin flies after an intruder - those disappeared days have left their mark.
Odin briefly on nest, alarm calling, then flew off. Somebody about?
