EJ Finally Mugs Fenrir For The Fish.

Well yesterday there was little change on the nest - much the same as the last few days.

However EJ did get one over Fenrir as he was tormenting EJ with the fish he brought to the nest and EJ managed to nab the fish off him. I am sure all who were watching jumped for joy but we should remember Ospreys do what Ospreys do.

EJ continues to incubate the remaining egg, which I personally think is no longer any good. But what do I know ? EJ will know best of all. As for our boy Fenrir he continues working to try and get EJ off the nest so he can remove the remaining egg. It must be very hard on Odin to try to deal with what is going on as he can’t be everywhere at once. It must also be hard on Jen and her team and the volunteers so I do feel for them as they can see a lot more of what’s going on off camera so it can’t be any fun for them so far this season.

I would like to thank on behalf of the posters on here Birdie Num Num, WendyB, Mary GK and Lmac for keeping us updated when they come back from LG with their reports so a big thank you – we also look forward to hearing about Hellen’s visit.

So a new day has started so what will happen now? God only knows.

I do hope and pray for one thing that this gets this nest sort out soon and that no Osprey gets seriously injured or worse killed.

But please remember Ospreys are Ospreys and will do what their instincts tell them to do - we can only sit back and wait for it all to get sorted.

He did look to be going to incubate BUT if Scylla can look at the detail I didn't think his talons were curled?. In the final moment he did scrape the nest cup and the egg appeared to roll but that could have been camera 'stutter'.

Very difficult to edit because of the freezes and skips. I think he would have incubated had he not discerned that it was dud. He may have picked away some shell but can't be certain what was in his beak.

Thank you Scylla.I'd say that at 06 10 03 he has not curled his talons as we would expect to see.

EJ has been calling incessantly since returning to her egg.

Presumably she wouldn't be calling if Odin had gone fishing again?

Good Morning, I am just doing the rounds before I leave for work. Great to read and see footage of Odin delivering lovely EJ a nice early breakfast, thank you Scylla for the capture.

Hello to you all, Many thanks to you LIMPY for the start off. SCYLLA for the video of fish arrival and our dear Odin. Please don't even mention the 'other' name.

Now, I have definitely decided I'd much rather have a poorer picture and know exactly what is going on (ALL the frames) . May we have another vote?

Good morning all. Thanks Limpy for starting the DU and thanks to Scylla for her overnight/early morning posts, pics and vids. Also thanks to the BC :)

Odin returned last night at just gone 9pm on cam. I was hoping that he would stay around and fish this morning. Strange reaction to egg! Does he think it's Fen's?

As I write, EJ is still calling asking for fish, facing the camera tree.
