The saga of Loch Garten 2015 is far from over. We now have a name for the new male Finrir but the battle for Loch Garten goes on.
We will see what a new day brings.

Morning all and thank you for all the input since last night.......very much appreciated.
Wish things would get sorted out, one way or another, as this situation isn't good for anyone. ( us included ) !
I think something flew top left away from the nest area. EJ seemed to be aware of it...I think!
Birdie's DU Summaries 2018 https://www.imagicat.com/
I'd concur with your theory Moffer. As for the second bit I wonder if EJ was still about as he does only seem to cause harm when she is out of sight. The last time he was clearly looking around to see if the coast was clear each time before he attacked the eggs.
Birdies LG DU update.
moffer said:Also he may want to get the shell out of the cup, but he was on the nest alone yesterday, so why didn't he do it then?
Very good point, Moffer. He had plenty of time to remove it, if he had wanted.

[/quote]Both I would think Brenda. He wants to clear out that nest cup again. There has been no evidence of the female since the other day and things seem to have quietened down in that respect.

I wonder if this would freak Fen out. A wee Crestie on the nest :)
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Awwww! Cresties are beautiful little birds.
What EJ really needs is a feisty pied wagtail to sort Fenrir out!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I'll be back later - got a fair amount to do today.
Fingers crossed EJ the Beautiful gets some fish, one way or another!
Still all quiet. EJ waits.
