The saga of Loch Garten 2015 is far from over. We now have a name for the new male Finrir but the battle for Loch Garten goes on.
We will see what a new day brings.

I think he wants her to follow him for the fish so that he can return and clear the nest cup as he did before. I think if a female was involved/interested she'd be attacking regardless. That is a worse case scenario as such battles are really vicious as we have witnessed at Dyfi in the past. Also bear in mind the females are much larger and heavier than the males.
Birdies LG DU update.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
A fleeting visit of osp with a fish again (Fenir?) - amid stuttering cam. Is it only me that constantly has to refresh the cam. It is almost impossible to follow anything.

Thanks Mike. She doesn't seem to be so desperate for a fish to make her follow him then.

Well captured Moffer. Split seconds.
No Sheila, you are not on your own. It has got worse for me in the last 30 mins. My picture freezes or keeps buffering and I have to refresh.
Really MUST go for a while - many essential tasks being neglected. Will try and look in from time to time.
This site is too addictive.
My theory, for what it's worth , is that Fen is a young inexperienced bird. This may be his first nest. He has spent the last 2-3 years at his winter grounds feeding himself, and protecting his catch. He knows that EJ wants fish, and he goes and gets one. But when it comes to the crunch, he just can't hand it over.
Also he may want to get the shell out of the cup, but he was on the nest alone yesterday, so why didn't he do it then?
