The saga of Loch Garten 2015 is far from over. We now have a name for the new male Finrir but the battle for Loch Garten goes on.
We will see what a new day brings.

Something must have triggered the hormonal response.
She stopped the day after the last egg was destroyed, when I'm sure that she thought Odin was gone. She spent a couple of periods of more than an hour away from the nest, and then he came back. That seems to have triggered the incubation stance again :(

I just gave up trying to say that, MOFFER, but got tangled up in my own verbosity. Thanks! The whys and wherefores are beyond us, notwithstanding hormones, but we know what we saw.

I have to have a lie down, SYL.
Fish calling!
Not fish.....Fen.
She say NO. I want fish!
No fish:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

But Odin, as far as we can as we can judge (bird ID via the webcam being so problematical) hasn't been back to the nest that much, or brought fish as would be expected. Perhaps EJ can SEE him most of the time, and we can't.

I came running back to the computer. She wants to pick up the biggest stick on the nest and hit him with it.
( He obviously doesn't understand her Scottish accent )
Morning ALL. So I start off where I ended with Fen just being there and EJ calling. Time to check back
"What's up with you, then?"
