It is a huge privilege to start this new thread, especially after a day like yesterday.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mother, father, all ospreys worldwide and Tiger for drawing in his claws and stepping back.
I wish us all a less confused day of watching and attempting to interpret, and EJ and Odin the very best luck in the world in their defence of the most famous Osprey nest in the world.
Greetings all fellow 'midnighters'.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
Moffer, the last two captures are Fenrir. I'm not sure about the first two, though.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
MOFFER, you should be The Magnificent, I never would have recognised Odin from that landing. Was it also him returned to the nest defending after he flew off?
More coffee, I think.

I have just been checking and I now feel that the orange chested male and black band are one and the same.
Tiger Signature
Having peered closely at Scylla's captures on the previous page I think the bird close to the camera could very well be Odin.
So...
Odin came to the nest @ 1135hr and defended and flew off.
Fenrir came to the nest @ 1136 and defended and flew off.
Yes? No?

Odin was also on the nest at 10.37. Pic on a previous page.

Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
I've had a curt text saying "No" to my 1204 question... but no explanation!
