It is a huge privilege to start this new thread, especially after a day like yesterday.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mother, father, all ospreys worldwide and Tiger for drawing in his claws and stepping back.
I wish us all a less confused day of watching and attempting to interpret, and EJ and Odin the very best luck in the world in their defence of the most famous Osprey nest in the world.
Greetings all fellow 'midnighters'.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
Trouble is LMAC, I think both theories could be right, but we need confirmation........ :-((
The theory about Odin perhaps tending two nests, certainly has some strength. If we consider that Odin arrived at LG in 2009, and performed like a skilled and experienced Osprey. Therefore, its not beyond the realms of possibility that he was evicted from an other nest, in the region, by a stronger male. Odin does as all disposed Ospreys do, looks for a nest, finds EJ, and the rest in history. However what happens if the male from his old nest doesn't come back, and Odin's former Mrs is on the lookout for some company? I know its a million to one shot but there is a chance.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.

I've heard distant very intruder calls.
IMAGICAT
Brief touchdown with fish, and gone!
She's up, and back down again.
Does anyone think that harm could come to EJ is she is wedded, to the nest and doesn't fish for herself?
PS - I post things like that in the hope they will attract an immediate whopper to descend onto the nest!
She left the nest a few days ago, when the egg kicking happened, apparently to fish for herself, so I am sure she would do it again.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Hi, OG!
