Just noticed it is Monday. It is my honor to start the new thread. Though I have not had much to contribute this season, I am nevertheless moved by the circumstances and events in the last week, not the least of which is the return of our dear ODIN.
Yesterday began with most of us resigning ourselves to OC (Orange Chest) being the new dominant male of the nest, especially after he kicked 2 eggs out of the nest, and destroyed the third in the nest cup. However, though EJ eventually accepted fish from him, she nevertheless refused to mate with him, shrugging him off time after time. Today OC brought a good sized brown trout to the nest, but promptly took off, after which a brief view of the chasing "intruder" was seen on the nest. This chasing "intruder" looked like ODIN, first mentioned by scylla, and commented upon similarly by other posters such as Moffer and Lindybird among others. Here is scylla's video of the fish and its disappearance followed by an osprey looking very much like Odin.
He did not return until late at night, caught by this video by BirdieNumNum, to our delight. We dearly hope to see him return victorious in the daylight.

21.56 - nightcam just came on. i was just thinking that it's staying light really late now, so far north.
Am logging off now, EJ alone and currently undisturbed on the nest now. Hope she has a peaceful night after all today's upheavals. Goodnight all - see you tomorrow.
Such a sad sight poor EJ and that empty shell
Thankyou everybody for today I seriously don't know how you keep up, I think we all need a paracetamol party.
Lets see what tomorrow brings.
The more you rush, the longer it takes
I thought there was no hope of any translocations in the UK for ?? years, Tiger.
Good night OSM and all. I'm off too. Lets hope that tomorrow is a more peaceful day with lots of fish.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Good Night OSM and Moffer. Thank you.

Scylla - we thought it was Odin on the nest this morning around 10.00am until we saw the chest !!!
So it could well be Odin has been in and out all day .. but I would have thought perhaps the VC would have said something
[/quote]Karen, I noticed that in her roving report earlier tonight WendyB said that the Osprey Centre was heaving today and only 3 staff on. So probably difficult for them to keep track. I am sure Jen will try to update us tomorrow if she has more time and has managed to make any sense of the log booksto figure out who is who.
Please, can anyone tell me (without my having to read back over 54 pages--LOL!) if EJ has had any fish today? Many thanks to Everyone for all your pics and posts, but I do not have time to read them all today--sorry (especially to Scylla!).
Kind regards, Ann
Just logged on to catch up and there are 54 pages!!!!! Please can someone summarize the days events and its too many to look through.

I think two fish or at least parts of two fish. I think the tricks of the light have been making us think that the most frequent visitor has been an odin lookalike but I think it may actually been Odin and the tricks of the sun/dark shadows and lashing rain have confused. I have been totally lost all day long as to what is happening but have only been reading and not watching. One thing is I don't think any of these birds look like OC
In an nutshell Lynette there seems to have been numerous birds including females but it may all have been tricks of the light and it could have been Odin all day. Nobody really knows what is happening with any clarity except it is a nest with Ospreys one of whom (out of a supposed 5 today) has a white ring with EJ on it. EJ in the course of the day has acquired two fish or pieces thereof but who were they from - that's anybodies guess
