Well not unexpectedly the season came to an end on Saturday morning when the intruding male broke the final egg.
As EJ is still in brooding mode she is still spending a lot of time on the nest brooding non existent eggs.
It now remains to be seen what will happen next. A variety of things could happen but as always with ospreys they will usually surprise us.
I guess the only way to find out is to keep watching.
Tiger Signature
As I was out all day yesterday I am trying to catch up with the news. Went to the beginning of todays Updated and saw Tigers writeup but too many pages to trawl through so if someone can just summarize what has been happening I would be grateful.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Odin arrived back on the scene today. Seen on camera at 3ish not been seen since as confirmation. Obviously off battling OC who arrived with a fish at that point.
LYNETTE, LG has said that Odin is back. He has been seen briefly on the nest but we don't know what is happening at the moment.
Lmac - hope you're still around. Just spent 20 unsuccessful minutes trying to reply to your post (with the lovely deer photo) using a quote and rich formatting. Couldn't get it to work, so here's the basic version.
I am GREEEEEN with envy - just seeing your evocative pic brought it all back to me - you've captured the atmosphere of the place beautifully: the shy deer, the dappled early morning sunlight, the sturdy pine trunks, the lush forest floor. I can almost SMELL the place. (Enough - I could go on all night.) I would like an instant magic carpet, though!
I remember a night on shift last year...
Sleep was allowed and at about 4.30 we were woken by an enormous noise. Sounded like a distressed dog. Oh no it was a Roe buck roaring in front of the hide ...
Amazing!!
OSM Here is another couple from forward hide, only while we await news or action these were 2013 early morning sunrise. I have literally 1000's
Time for me to sign off now - goodnight all who are still watching. Hopefully we will see more of Odin tomorrow.
Just had my last look in on EJ she seems quite settled, just hope wherever Odin is he can rest tonight, for who knows what will be in store for him tomorrow, will EJ help him to fend off OC, we can only hope and please let him stay safe, weve got him back now and we want to keep him, and on that note I will say goodnight to everybody, and thankyou to everyone for todays posts
The more you rush, the longer it takes
Lmac - those photos are so beautiful - so peaceful. Were there bugs and was it hot or cold?
