Well not unexpectedly the season came to an end on Saturday morning when the intruding male broke the final egg.
As EJ is still in brooding mode she is still spending a lot of time on the nest brooding non existent eggs.
It now remains to be seen what will happen next. A variety of things could happen but as always with ospreys they will usually surprise us.
I guess the only way to find out is to keep watching.
Tiger Signature
Alerted whilst 'trawling' by EJ chirping. Currently back in the nest cup.
Birdies LG DU update.
Good morning, MIKE :-) I am dealing with some dead babies elsewhere :'(
EJ is back incubating, I didn't see or hear her return but the sound is back now, after a fashion, she's fish-soliciting I think:

If this proves not to be the case no doubt the staff and vols will be keeping a keen eye on both birds in case one or both decide to start building a frustration eyrie close to the nest. This happened at LG in 2001 if my memory is not playing tricks.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
Good morning all. Thanks for starting the thread Tiger and thanks to Scylla and all for the overnight and early morning posts. It's good to see Limpy back.
I put the cam on around 6am and EJ was in the cup calling for fish, as she still is now.The cuckoo is calling.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Good Morning All
Good morning! CRINGER, MOFFER, PATILY :-)
Hi Patily. Hi Moffer.
Hi Cringer, Patily and Mike. Another day begins.
EJ is quite a bit quieter now. I hope that OC isn't in EJ's view and eaten a fish.
Good morning, all. At least she can go and get a fish now if nobody brings her one.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Hi Clare. I don't think her fishing for herself will help her 'bond' with OC. Still calling and so is the Cuckoo.
