I agree. That is odd, actually: BTO ring on left leg would mean darvic (if he ever had one) on the right - which should mean an English or Welsh bird. Don't usually get them venturing this far north. Nor do they usually lose darvics as youngsters - and we know that all English & Welsh chicks have darvics. The alternative would be a much older Scottish bird - but if he has been evicted from his own nest, why expend all this effort on LG rather than on trying to reclaim his own territory?
Thank you Diane. Good to hear. I still have many questions though, but I guess they are not important.
Clare some of your snaps of a calm EJ could have been him then. You clearly know his style of protection best - well predicted answer from LG, well done you and your positivity
So why hasn't he been to the nest to defend EJ?
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Does LI bird not just have bto on left leg
So basically Odin is not being very successful at stopping the intruder?

Thanks for the heads up on FB. It gives us hope, but I am not convinced. SYL
Maybe his leg injury flaring up
Is he chasing one intruder while EJ is being pestered by a second intruder ?
