As usual, there was the good and the not-so-good yesterday.
The Good
~ EJ got TWO portions of fish!
~ EJ was in fine voice.
~ No-one got hurt.
~ It didn't snow or rain heavily.
The Not-so Good
~ The intruders are still around, tho they were easily sent packing by Odin.
~ The cam has been buffering and blacking out very frequently.
~ Some of us have had great difficult accessing the LG forum.
Generally, it was a very good day for our birds, and that's what matters.
IMAGICAT
I thought she was going to crush the eggs with that big flap!
If you are using VLC you might not be conscious of all the buffers, mini-freezes probably don't show up. But it's buffering A LOT.

Morning all Why is EJ eating on the nest?
I think it's because Odin is chasing off the intruders, PATILY.
Tiger's Osprey News
Morning Patily :) Odin flew in with fish but left it to chase an intruder. He hasn't come back for EJ to finish her breakfast (now lunch) away from the nest.
EJ has had enough for now (still tail+ on the side of the nest) and is back on the eggs. About 9 mins off the eggs I think.
By the way, hello everyone.
I love Sutherland immensely. :-)
I thought that might be the case with the intruders but was hoping I was wrong Thanks for your replies
I am on VLC, but the sounds goes and then I realise I have been watching a stalled screen, so start it again, sometimes with success, sometimes no.
It seems that the Scottish west coast has touched the hearts of many of us!
Patily EJ had been tweeting for a while, before Odin alarm called and arrived at the nest at 07.22 carrying the fish he had been eating. In his haste to chase off the intruder he left a substantial part of the fish on the nest, possibly just headless. EJ ignored it initially, but four/five minutes later she got up and flew off with the fish. Odin did not return to incubate and for 31 minutes in all the eggs remained uncovered. Mike kept track of the time!
At 07.53 Odin returned, but was being threatened by an intruder, and he set off again. I think that was the last time we have seen or heard from him so far today.
At 07.57 she returned to the nest with the largish tail and left it on the edge of the nest until 11.48 when she had a quick flight and returned to eat more of the fish. She settled back on the eggs ten minutes later.
Have you noticed EJ's white frilly petticoat today? and what appears to be a loose tail or primary feather? She has tucked the white feather away now so you can't see them!

Well done Sheila, very precise.
Yes I noticed that EJ was showing her petticoat. Not visible now.
