Hallo all
Check out last week's thread for holiday shots from Lindybird and funnies from dibnlib.
That was a large baby (by today's standards). Anyone remember how much George weighed? I see Alice and Charlotte are the top name choices - both are pretty. I'm waiting for the call asking my opinion! :-)
Lindybird: That's a lovely beach.
dibnlib: Good for you standing up for yourself re your work hours. Hope it brings a positive change - regardless. Love the rear of that wine truck. :-)
Heather: A shame about your dinner. Hope the guest of honor enjoyed his.
Guy came this morning and tree and plants are now nicely tucked up in the soil. He told me his crew is available for half-day jobs (trimming, etc.), which I'll certainly keep in mind. Off to daughter's to pick up the guinea pig tomorrow morning; then home for appointment with possible house painter.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
I am the same with my mobile number, Linda, If my OH is with me, I ask him, as he knows it without having to check LOL
ANNETTE lovely photo of King, thank you.
LINDY lovely pics of amaryllis and apple tree in bud. Our apple tree is just the same and looking wonderful.
Had a breakfast at MC this morning. I had the veggie breakfast minus baked beans and it was so good. It set me up for a walk round Loch an Eilein. We just strolled round and chatted with some people passing so it took over 1hr 30mins. then coffee and a browse at Inverdruie. Home via our polling station. Such an enjoyable morning/afternoon.
Sounds Idyllic, Dibnlib. So good you are able to enjoy your days away from work.
Alan: Nice to see Lady P's name on here - I was wondering how she was doing. Have sent appropriate voting wishes to my UK family.
Lindybird: More lovely pix; thank you.
There was an item on one of our local blogs this morning about the drought. Somebody asked what restrictions might be imposed on all the vineyards; another blogger said they hoped none, coz so many of us are drinking wine to save water. :-) (As it is, agriculture is critical to California's economy, unlike lush lovely lawns.....
Hallo to all - off to LA and museum now.
Good evening all
Regarding the drought, ANNETTE, the only info we get is on BBC World Radio.I think that I heard about the Central Valley the other night but don't want to make a fool of myself because I will surely remember it wrongly:-(
Regards to all, we leave early tomorrow but as I think (!) I said previously, I will be able to keep in touch when in France.Things are not looking good at LG, fingers crossed.
Have a good journey, Heather.
Heather: You're correct; the Central Valley is the nation's bread/fruit/veggie basket so drought not good for them. In the meantime, the price of almonds has gone through the roof.
It's worrying that Odin seems to have fallen off the radar, especially in view of all these intruders. :-((
Spent several hours at the Getty Center. Enjoyed the Turner exhibit but was a bit disappointed in that it was weighted heavily with mythical and Italian scenes - was hoping for more London/UK-related paintings. OH and I came home exhausted; don't know why trudging around a museum should be so tiring. In addition, it's a two-hour drive teach way at pretty high speeds with plenty of traffic. It's a lovely venue - but spread out and not that easy to find your way around; even with maps (especially if you only go once every 10 years!!). Splurged on a fridge magnet and a little arty paper flower thingy for Ms. D. Came home to dog impatient for walk, guinea pig squeaking loudly for lettuce and carrot, and cat wailing pitifully for food and attention. Sigh.
Good Morning Everyone. Watching the election results, while also checking for any news at LG. No sign of Odin this morning.
Annette, I can imagine that trudging around a museum and a two hour drive, each way, would be exhausting. Who felt the least tired and took the dog for a walk LOL
Might as well get the washing machine whirling.
