More intrusions yesterday but nothing like as aggressive as they have been. Odin caused concern, he was not seen on the nest for 9 hours but stamped his authority on it and on EJ when he did eventually appear, by pseudo-mating.
It's another windy night, EJ has just taken a 2-minute break - that's 2 minutes from getting up to sitting down, not 2 minutes in flight:
She returned from an unusual direction, hope you can recognise her legs in the top right:
Flaps:
Back on the eggs, alert, she is not sleeping yet as I type:
Gosh, I need to outline EJ's face, eyes and beak in that last snap, I can hardly pick her out myself :o
IMAGICAT
Here we go, sweet soliciting tweets from EJ :-)
EJ is calling. Odin's in sight.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Oh honestly, how can he resist her? <3
She's flown.
Flapping, piping, back on eggs.
That was a loud burst of begging. Oh do hurry Odin.
Morning SCYLLA and MOFFER
Morning Patily :)
I hope that Odin isn't eating two thirds of the fish again. EJ's hungry.
I can hear a few spots of rain. EJ is alert and still waiting. It's going on for an hour since she started calling.Distant Cuckoo calling.
Morning PATILY! It's not a brilliant start to the day, as Odin's had plenty of time to eat _all_ that fish if he felt like it :'( EJ couldn't have been more polite, IMO.
Good morning, all. EJ is peering around:
Boo - she's turned away from us! I hope that huge feather making its exit is part of her normal moult:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
