And so we begin another month. Osprey season is in full swing, with lots of action everywhere. ENJOY!
Starling I just took a second look at your picture of Glesni. I didn't recognize it first time, but now I do believe that is a sheep on the ground down below in the left hand corner. That is the kind of pastoral setting that I used to enjoy so much at this nest.
Starling, my photography skills are to be found wanting! Especially distance photos. I bought OH a 400m lens for his 60 birthday / christmas present (not usually that spoilt!) I shall be borrowing that!
Very sorry to see that there were concerns for Mayas health yesterday and lack of food for the chicks. It was very poor weather yesterday so probably difficult fishing for B33.
Foxgloves and delphiniums are what I just put in today. They are in bloom now, so won't last much longer. So I have small Impatient plants, which I will plant around them. They should get bigger to sort of replace the foxglove and delphinium, and bloom until killed by frost. That is, if they all do well. I've got it all planned out and they probably will all just do their own thing.
Baseball fans and gardeners are alike that in the spring hope springs eternal in their hearts. :)
My delphiniums are just small plug plants at the moment so wont flower till next year. Have left my planning late this year but sewing seeds for next! I have one large delphinium which has multiplied and about to flower! Never been able to grow them before because of slugs! I go out and physically pick them off as I dont use slug pellets. I do love delphiniums and their beautiful colours.
Good morning, not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, apologies if its not. I love to feed the birds, even the starlings, plus I am the only one in our little area that feeds them.
On arrival home from work yesterday I was met by at least 80 (from a rough count, maybe more) of starlings on the fencing/roof/ the next door neighbours tree ( he always grumbles about the birds) so how do I deter them although still encourage the other birds to feed, I was slightly embarrassed, also the mess :(
We are about to have a conservatory built, so I need to sort matters now.
tina - I can't give you much advice about the starlings. I have loads of them just now, it's just the time of year for them, few weeks ago only had a handful.
You might get more advice from the community threads, I have seen similar postings on them.

thank you starling, I could deal with a handful, not on mass. Although they are comical to watch.
New blog with photos of EJ fishing and news of Breagha.

It seems that the two "equal" chicks I was watching have sorted it out for themselves and that one has emerged triumphant. Probably the oldest. Those few days make for great advantage. I would be very interested in knowing the facts here, if anyone can tell us.
I just looked again at the picture. LOL He has a TRIUMPHANT attitude about him, even a joyful rather evil triumphant look. I wish the best for this nest and the 2 wee siblings. Should be interesting watching.
