Evening all: Welcome back, Alicat! As usual, all quiet on the LG nest; breezy at LOTL. FYI, I may not watch very late tonight as we have someone coming early in the morning to install French doors between the kitchen and "my" room and it's been a busy day.
........dropping to -1.0 deg between 4am and 7am tomorrow. A high of 7 deg in the afternoon.

Hi Margobird: Don't you just love that little 'conversation' that they have, when one of them returns. Wish I knew what they were saying.
That's exactly right, DjoanS ! Can hear her saying it. Thanks for the lovely picture.
Alan that is cold amd will go down to -2C overnight. They are certainly having to sit out some awful weather this year.
Just want to say to everyone thanks for all the pics and for updating everything, I am now back on course and able to watch for a while as OH is at his Anglo Italian club.

Thanks DjoanS it certain looks big, wonderful how they can fly with stuff this size in a gale force wimd.
Now there is a dramatic effect on the picture, as the nest is still white, whilst the background trees are golden as the sun sets. Anyone got a pic of it?
I do love the way they seem to talk to each other. It happens everytime when either EJ or Odin return to the nest. I think they might have been discussing the weather and saying it is going to be a bit chilly again tonight, so make sure you try to keep the eggs warm. Joking apart I am just full of admiration for them in their loyalty to each other and their precious eggs.
I try to comfort myself by remembering last year when she was covered in snow and she still raised three beautiful chicks.
Hi thanks for the daily reports of the nest activities!!
The fish report was interesting. I saw the big one delivered this morning so even if it was just two fish today in this bad weather catching two fish is a victory for Odin. I am also happy he is remembering to eat the head to kill it before he brings it to the nest. We don't the drama of a live fish flopping around the nest and harming the eggs.
Last year when the chicks were much larger and he had to do so much fishing he didn't bother to eat the head.
Here is a video from BigRab74 of a live fish delivered by Odin . Then you can see EJ "grumbling" when she realized it is flopping around. You can almost hear her saying to Odin, " Hey Buddy Kill it before you leave it! Someone could get hurt" Look at the surprise of the chicks as the fish is flopping .
