Evening all: Welcome back, Alicat! As usual, all quiet on the LG nest; breezy at LOTL. FYI, I may not watch very late tonight as we have someone coming early in the morning to install French doors between the kitchen and "my" room and it's been a busy day.
OH, when did EJ come back ?
FOUR chicks! Ye Gods, as my grandma used to say. That's amazing. Have to agree with your evidence that perhaps it was all one and the same fish, after all, if it was such a large one. At least neither bird is now hungry! Don't know when they had a changeover, as I've been out of the room again.
Around 2.40pm Odin was on the eggs, EJ came back but Odin didn`t want to get up. EJ almost had to walk over Odin to get him stand up. He really seems to like sit on those eggies :)

Thanks for the funny pics. auntie: he really does enjoy it, doesn't he? Do love your new avatar.
Ha ha ha Auntie - EJ is getting her 'feet' under him (move it lad !!). Thanks for the pics
Annette: There were 4 eggs laid at LG in 1999 but only 3 fledged. In 2005 4 eggs were laid at LOTL but only 2 fledged. I am sure I read somewhere that Tweed Valley had 4 eggs and all 4 fledged one year. I will have to check up on that though. 4 eggs is quite rare and happens in about 1% of clutches. 87% of clutches have 3 eggs, 10% have 2 eggs and 2% have only 1 egg.
Thanks for those interesting stats, Alan. 87% indicates having 3 eggs seems to be the 'norm', then.
What would we do without you Alan !!!! Great stuff. Thanks for that mine of information.
Thanks for the stats, Alan. That's a great amount of information.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
EJ suddenly left the nest, with the eggs unattended for a few seconds: then Odin arrived, she must have seen him approach so she left. But then she returned, as if to say "My eggs!" and got down on them again, leaving him pecking at the edge of the nest with nothing to do. Now he's flown off, in a huff no doubt.
