Happy New Week

Any chance that medically prescribed marijuana might help the nausea?  Or don't they have that there? Here it's still a bit iffy, depending on which state you live in.

We don't have that here.  It's sad as every so often you read about some elderly person who is illegally taking it for medicinal reasons and are going to continue taking it as it makes such a huge difference to them.  Same story with cannabis.  I don't for one moment condone those idiots taking it for fun but you'd think some way could be found to licence it for the right reasons.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning. A bit of a dull sky but dry with light clouds - I hope to put out more laundry and get a few supplies in this morning, then this afternoon am off to my Friend's house for our puppies to enjoy a playdate: Friend has just returned from a week away. Clare - I agree that its a crying shame that the 'recreational' drug taking makes it illegal for those who get some relief from them medicinally.
  • AQ - Sounds like you had a nicely restful day pottering yesterday - never mind the stove cleaning today! Have another day off!
  • Morning, Lindy. It's another lovely day here, but it's much cooler.

I've got another interview on Monday afternoon - number 9! - surely someone's got to say yes sooner or later?  My fingers are crossed as this workplace comes with a lovely reputation.

  • Annette - Sounds a rather noisy day, we have similar here now that the waste collections are divided into various different containers. The trucks grind along and the men seem to be on a system where they can go home once they've finished, so they treat it like a race and rush about, banging everything!
  • Clare - Fingers crossed for Number Nine - just get there, looking good, on time! You're sure to impress, wearing your best vest, and with that personality, all will be fine!! :-)

You're exceptionally kind!  If only all of my past interviewers had been you.

  • Should have gone to the gym this morning but woke up with my right leg in severe pain behind the knee. Could hardly walk at first but once I got going it eased a little so thought it prudent not to aggrivate it by going swimming as we are away next week.  However, although it has eased whenever I get up and do something it begins to really ache and I can feel it tender in the back of my thigh. As mysteriously as it started (last night) I'm sure it will disappear, hope so anyway!

Oh AQ - just chill whilst you have the opportunity, OH is taking the strain today, your turn will no doubt come round again.  lol.

  • Clare: They had a program on medical research the other night that included the case of a young boy who was having hundreds of seizures on a regular basis, which all but stopped when he started getting medical marijuana.  We had, at least here in California, a split between the easier-going State-wide policy and the much more restrictive Federal policy, which caused a lot of doctors to shy away from prescribing it. Have to say I'm not sure what the situation is now, what with some states legalizing recreational use.  Oh good luck on the 9th interview!  Have you got your suit out? :-))

Lynette: Smart to give your leg a rest, but don't you hate it when you can't do your normal workout routine?

Lindybird: Is this another friend you're meeting or the one you go shopping with who was ill?  If so, how's she doing?  Have fun with the puppies.

Stuff to do here (paperwork) - groan. Off I go...

  • Lynette - That's a difficult one, as there could be so many causes of your problem - do hope you're right and maybe it'll go away as mysteriously as it appeared. Annette - Same Friend - she bought a puppy for her OH for Christmas (he got a photo of it on Christmas Day & they collected it later). Theirs is a Miniature Schnauzer who is a month older than Bonnie: they adore each other and run around madly for an hour, then we have two tired pooches!! My Friend has recovered from her bad year last year (womb removed followed by radiotherapy treatment, plus gallbladder operation) and is hoping to get fit enough to have knee surgery sometime, as it got put off because of her other problems. I think she is a little frailer than she was before all this, but is still fighting, and has planned several holidays this year.
